Just picked up this truck and the speedo is in desperate need of a recal. I will be tuning with EFILive later this year but need to recal now.

What are my options as far as cheap? Thinking the dealer running a Tech 2 would be best but don't know of any other options other than that.

Thanks for the help.

The Tech II will not be able to set for that tire size. From all I have seen there is a limited size selection on the Tech II. Only option is a tuner like the Quad. Hypertech makes one just for tire calibration change only and no power tuning. Not sure if it be worth the price. Only other option is if you have a GPS then use that as an option. Not completely accurate but will put you in the ball park once cruise is set.

The Predator will allow you to change tire size settings in order to correct your speedo. Mine is dead nuts on with my GPS.

Superlift truspeed (http://www.superlift.com/accessories/truspeed.asp) makes one for GM trucks up to '05.

Hypertech (http://www.4wheelparts.com/Performance-Parts/Hypertech-Speedometer-Recalibration-Device.aspx?t_c=74&t_s=33&t_pt=6297&t_pl=2708&t_pn=HYP732001) makes one that should work also.

We do offer a unit that will Recalibrate speedometer for non-stock tire sizes and/or
rear gear ratios. It also will Read, display, & clear DTCs. This would be what your looking for until you decide what tuning you want to use.

Zero cost method: Pull the cluster, move the needle, set it to GPS Speedometer sweep percentage always stays the same but with bigger tires, the truck thinks its moving slower.

I did this when I went to 265's to fix the 3 MPH diff -- will be doing it again now that 305's are going on soon.

PM me if you decide to do this, I can walk you through it by phone. Important safety tip: don't set it while driving, pull over and adjust. Also never move the needle when the harness is plugged in. Its a little trial and error but easy to do on OBS.
