I have the PPE Economy tuner. Is the 120 hp tune safe for the tranny?

I will also be towing 8800# TT. Is any tune safe if I keep the EGT's at 1300 or lower?

I have tried the 40 and 90 hp tunes. Thinking of trying the 120 tune for a few days just to get the feel and check fuel economy at that setting.

I really like the 40hp tune but ecconomy doesn't seem that good. The 90hp tune is definatly better ecconomy wise with a slight increase in power over the 40hp tune (on my truck anyway).

I don't know, but I slipped my torque converter with the ppe on level 2 which it the 90hp tune, I was pulling alot more wait and had a 30 mph headwind. My trans. temp was normal and everthing was going good then all of the sudden my torque converter unlocked, so my advice would be to leave it on level 1 or stock for pulling. Just my thoughts.

I wouldnt try it, unless you feel like living on the edge. Ive limped mine on 65hp towing a little single axle trailer. Get ready for a tranny rebuild.

That's what I was thinking. Level 1 for towing. Just looking to get the best fuel efficancy I can while keeping the tranny intact.

best when using higher hp tunes is no wot open throttle in the 4th on up gears. Same for up and down shifts of those gears. I would suggest locking to 4th gear and once to desired speed let up and jump up to the next gear. But take it easy.

Been riding mine level 3 120 HP since I got it almost a year & 20,000+ Miles ago, I don't tow and never have but (knock on wood) I have never had an issue! When I first installed it I was real careful because I didn't know how hard I could push. I think I have a pretty heavy foot and have really hammered it good but she is still holding strong! Most of my driving is highway and a bunch of stop and go at lights. I am still very careful when getting on it merging or passing at +50 mph but off the line I have almost lost my fear.

You will enjoy it just respect the added power and it will treat you well!!
