Scheid Diesel is hosting the Diesel Extravaganza here in Terre Haute this weekend. I am glad I went this morning, it's the last day of the dyno's....which is the only thing I was really interested in.

A lot of nice trucks down there, a lot of impressive numbers too!! The guy in front of me pulled 567 hp and 989 ft-lbs!!! :grd: Yesterday two guys were over 1000, one of them a little over 1100 from what I am told. As for me, after two hours and $75, I can tell you I am very impressed. With the Six Gun/ Speedloader on #1 (stock) I got 313 hp/567 tq. Not too bad for just intake and exhaust. Then for the second pull, on #4 I was at 387 hp/746 tq. The third pull was on #6 which came out 431 hp/826 tq!!! That's about 118 hp and 259 ft-lb tq added!! Not bad for a module that advertises 126 hp and 290 ft-lb gains. I am not arguing anything with those numbers, but what happened to the extra 8 hp and 31 ft-lbs???? The black smoke was pretty impressive too, and since no one has ever driven the truck but me, I got to hear it from the outside for the first time....my brother told me it was a deep sound, and I admit, it makes you want to look over and see what is making all the fuss!! Still not the same as the 1st and 2nd gen motors though :(

I will post some pics and maybe a video. I want to go watch the sled pulls tonight and the drag racing in the morning. :exactly:

Sorry for the delay. There was a Dynojet and Mustang dyno on-site. I went to the Mustang dyno. I looked on some other forums and was reading a lot of the bickering ongoing about how un-true and how far off these numbers were.....Chevy guys!!! I talked with a bunch of the guys that were waiting to get on the dyno and they had been to other dyno's and had an idea of where they should be. All of them saw numbers within about 20 hp and 30 ft-lbs. I am pretty confident that the numbers I saw were pretty close. I would like to get on a dyno where they are looking at RPM, and adjust tire size and whatnot...just to see how close they were.

The drum barrel at schieds uses rpm and has an optic eye to help measure tq. #. I dynoed on both and they were within 10 -15 hp of one another but the mustang at schieds was about 200 ft lb higher as it just makes a calculation for the tq. It always has read higher tq numbers.

When's the next time you suspect they'll be having an open house? I'd be interested in going, even though my truck is 100% stock I'd like to see what the other guys have on their trucks.

I had heard that the numbers would be off a little bit.....but not that much!! I cannot forsee that the dyno would have been off by 200 ft-lbs. God I hope not!!! Otherwise I wasted a lot of money on the Banks system as I would have gained about 70-100 ft-lbs of torque on #6 (which is supposed to add about 290 ft-lbs!!) -:t

I heard the D MAX guys griping at the numbers they saw, they all thought they would be higher!! A lot of guys down there were on the dynos and had been a lot of times. They all were seeing nearly the same numbers as earlier runs on different dynos.

So what will "she" do at the track ?
Too many variables on the dyno.
