What kind of pressures have you been running and how do you use your truck? What is rotation schedule?

I just put some H2 wheels with BFG 285/70/17's on my truck today. When I asked for recommended tire inflation pressure, the owner of the tire shop advised to start with 40 psi all around and look at the tires and adjust from there. He said that many people make the mistake of inflating the tire to the max. pressure listed on the sidewall and that there is no reason to unless you're towing. (My truck is unloaded currently). He also suggested another method. That being to create a water puddle in the street and drive the truck through it. Look at the impressions left to see if the tire is even all the way across the tread. On my truck, I'm probably going to go up at least another 5 or 10 psi in the front where the weight is and maybe another 5 in the back. Truck rode much better with the lower inflation pressure and with a load range D tire replacing the E's I had on before. I don't tow anything currently and don't carry anything heavy so I can get away with this.

I have found that 55psi in the front and 45psi in the rear has given me the best ride and good tire wear. Hope it helps at least as a starting point. I do bring the pressure up when loading it down or towing heavy.
