I have never seen commercial BD cheaper than #2. Of course, if you got enough NAAAAWS you don't need much BD ):h

I've been using it for at least 15K miles. Works great, haven't had any problem. Whenever I change the fuel filter I am going to cut it open and see how it looks. I buy B100 and put in 5 gal w/every fillup.

I have run three tanks of b99 through my 2005 and just noticed a little less power on my '05. It is $2.75 as of a few days ago here and #2 is running $3.05 and up!

I have been looking into a homebrew kit and have gone to two demo's to see the actual process of converting used cooking oil into Diesel. It is a very easy process and I am finding restaurant owners will bend over backwards to get you to take their used oil! Last night I got a 24 gallon fillup of B100 homebrewed diesel, I have to admit I was a little nervous pumping recycled cooking oil into my $50K diesel pickup truck:cool: . I ran 100 miles today and the only difference I can notice is an oh so slight drop in power when leaving a stop light, thus far according to the DIC mileage appears to be the same maybe even slightly better. The other difference is the french fry smell when I get out. At .70 per gallon for home brew I think I can deal with a little less get up and go at the stop light and smelling like McDonalds takeout. I am going to order my homebrew kit on Friday as long as everything keeps up the way it is.

FYI

I have been doing R&D on biodiesel processing for quite a while. I nearly have a prototype done and expect to have the first kit ready for sale before the end of the year. I have checked a number of current kits and have found a number of short falls with each (IMHO).

I am focusing on safety, reliability, maintainability, and productivity for what I will be producing. I expect to have my website up before the end of October, maybe much earlier depending on other business issues. However, it will be November before any pictures of the kit are available.

In the meantime, if you are serious about processors, feel free to PM me. I will provide a phone number and we can discuss where you want to go with this.

If you guys are serious about home brewing I can post a link to the best forum I have found regarding home made BD.
I have been making my own for several months now and could not believe how easy it had been. I have been using readily avaliable equipment. (not only easy but cheap too)
Post here if you want more info.
Has anyone had any problems with the rubber components on their fuel systems?

Here is a site where the kits are offered by someone who is focuseing more toward the enviromental angle, not trying to profit from the kit. Price seems reasonable at $400.00

Girl Mark is, IMO, has done the most of anyone I know to kick off the biodiesel grass roots movement.....she designed that processor in the link above.

That really could work out well for a lot of people.
