Why would GM offer a color but restrict it so that it wasn't available in a Crew Cab? From what I have seen the Crew Cab is probably the best selling body style yet 3 colors wont be available to it this year. I was interested in the Blue Granite Metallic and i know it is available in a 1500 crew cab, just not the 2500 and 3500 in a crewcab. The same is true of the dark green metallic and sandstone metallic. I am just curious, I have already ordered my truck in Graystone metallic but I think that blue granite would look nice too.

I was going to suggest that it might be because the CC's and the Reg/Ext. cabs are made in two different plants, but since you said that the 1500 CC's are getting this color I am stumped. Time to call GM I guess.

Two days ago I saw a 2006 CC SB in the blue granite.... nice color!!

I have no idea why GM would limit colors from 1500 to 2500 and 3500 though.

If you e-mail, you risk the chance of getting a "canned" response. If I get a chance tomorrow, I might inquire for you. If you are in Iraq, you are serving for this country. I will be glad to call for you. If they are not open on Saturday to recieve calls, give me until Monday. I should have something for you by then!

On edit, their hours are Monday-Friday 7am-10pm central standard time, so I will give them a call on my way home from work monday morning which will be around 7am and should post the results once I get home. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the help, I am just more curious than anything, I had already decided and ordered my truck in the Greystone Metallic but my wife likes the new blue/gray and I think it looks good. Maybe it will be a mid year change though i doubt it.

Well, I talked to them today and they pretty much just told me what I already knew that it wasn't available on the 2500HD CC's. My question was why was it available to the 1500 CC's and not the HD's, but it took a while to confirm that it was not available on the HD CC's. So my best guess would be that the 1500 CC's may not be built at Flint, MI (could be way wrong here) since they have a smaller bed, could it all be the same frame that the Ex cab uses? So in short, Blue Granite Metallic is not available in a 2500HD CC (which you already knew...) Finding out the real reason might require me to talk to someone logical and I don't think GM hires those. Hope this helps... Stay cool!!

Well, thanks for the help anyways, I guess it will be Greystone for me.

I wouldn't mind a blue granite HD with greystone as a secondary color (two tone). That would be sharp, especially if it was totally trimmed out in greystone....
