Those who are concerned with injectors, let me tell you something from Physics. Diesel injectors are more tolerant to pressure than gas injectors. As soon as the injector releases the high pressure fuel, any micro molecular carbon atoms formed, if at all, faces enormous amount of friction and heat as they go out of the nozzle. The friction is enough to clean out some of these micro carbon molecules formed in the injector.
This effect is similar to wiping a surface continuously, and the effect is that the surface will always remain clean.

The injector design and operation itself keeps it clean. There is no need to add any chemical or additives to clean it.

COuld those lil particle you speak of become abrasive to the injector and cause acelerated wear? I duno.....comepletly ignorant of all this stuff. Just asking

Since H2O cannot be compressed (and the injector "holes" are tiny) additives/filters would help save injectors. Ditto for fuel with greater than 2 micron contaminants.
BTW, I saw a bucket of used injectors at SD and some looked dirty (on the outside) but the nozzles are too small to examine, visually, without a microscope.
I agreee that BD or SVO will help a lot but wein, you should do a search on injector problems on this forum. There have been a lot of them
deadeye, you are right about fuel contaminants. Coninued use of contaminated fuel may cause injectors to fail. But as soon as good clean fuel is used, those micro particles that was depositing on the tiny nozzle will clean by itself. You do not have to use any additives or chemicals. All you need to put is clean fuel.
Injector problems occur from the combustion side, not usually from the injection side unless someone is using really dirty fuel. The portion that get exposed to the combustion chamber is the place where most wear occur and injector may get clogged even if air which enters the chamber is not properly cleaned.
