From what I've seen personally and looking around on here, alot of guys like the BFG All-Terrain T/A's for pulling. I currently have a set on my truck 32x10.50's, and I dont really care for them because the ride quality sucks. I've had them back 3 times to be re-balanced and they can never get them balanced perfect. But, I put ALOT of miles on my truck for work, so ride is kinda important to me. If you dont put alot of miles on your truck or dont care about vibration, then they are a great tire. I've also seen some guys use Dick Cepek FC-II's, they seem to be fairly popular too. Im taking a gamble and buying Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx's 33x11.50 this time, have no clue how they'll do but Ill update Saturday after I hook to the sled....if it quits raining long enough to get a pull in!

And as far as worn out tires, new tires, aggressive tires, etc....alot of it will depend on track conditions, but you obviously dont wanna be running baloney skins, your gonna need some kind of tread to get moving and keep you moving. But, you dont wanna be running something overly aggressive on a power track unless you have the power to actually spin them. So choose wisely. A few local guys tried the Baja Claw MTZ's a few years ago thinking they would be an awesome tire since they are directional tread...and they sucked.

yea see i dont care about what kind of tire, im not gunna go by tires just for pulling im just wondering if i want not so agresive tires so i can keep Rs cuz its not like i have 600hp. thanks alot for the input i think what im gunna use are my kelly safari TSRs. they are pretty agressive but are have worn out and the track i go to its realy tacky clay so i think it will match up good. thanks again.

I had excellent luck with my cooper Zeon LTZs last year. Always top 3 in the stock classes and was top 10 in any RWYB class where i didnt blow the hook. Not that the competition here in CNY is very good. But still, i was very happy with my coopers.

haha CNY im only a few of hours away from utica ( im just south of Rochester) and i know what you mean about competition around here every body just runs what they got its not like out west. i looked up your coopers and they look like realy nice tires and not real agressive just what i was talking about. thanks for the input.

Hell, at least you guys have WNY pro farm out that way. Here In 100 mile radius of the Utica area every pull has a different set of rules every freakin year.

I ran 33x12.50 mickys with a stock truck and h2 wheels , worked preatty well, i was ran the rwyb class, and was usually the first person outside the money spot, and prolly one of the only one that was true stock turbo, stock injectors stock pump. You definatly will want to have ladder bars, I am trying out stts this year

You'll have to let me know how the stt's work out? I'm getting ready to give it a try and I have never heard any opinions on the stt's.

Hey man its cool, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I've pulled tractors pretty much my whole life and always watched the truck pulls and wanted to do it, now I have a diesel and just wanna hook to the sled a few times this year for fun and to see what the old girl will do. But anyways, as far as a "pro street" class? Never heard of one called that, at least not down here in my area. Most fairs around here just have a "run what ya brung as long as it weighs in" type format, and the bigger shows run work stock, 2.6, 2.8, and 3.0. With the mods listed in your signature I'd def say you wanna pull in a work stock type class, not sure what they call it where your from but its just daily driven street trucks with some modifications just like yours and mine. Run what ya brung type stuff kinda looks like fun too, I've seen a few blind hogs find an acorn once in awhile in RWYB classes, ya just never know. As far as rules, NADM's website has a rulebook for pulling on it, www.runnadm.com thats what I downloaded and am going by because they are the only sanctioning body that promotes a pull in my area, but some good basic rules and guidelines nonetheless.

As far as mods, a Transgo Jr. is pretty much a must, I would highly reccomend that. With the Banks programmer that should be enough to make your transmission hold up for a good while. Other than that, for the front end, a minimum of dropping the torsion bars when you pull and either tie rod sleeves or bigger tie rods. With us living in the Northeast I'd reccomend bigger tie rods if your truck is a daily driver like mine is, friends of mine have used sleeves in the past, and the salt causes them the seize fast to the tie rod, and then your kinda screwed if you ever need to get them off for whatever reason. Even the stainless ones will gauld fast. I went with the "rare parts" xtreme duty tie rods from www.dmaxstore.com, I also put on a set of Cognito pitman/idler braces too. From what I hear they aren't necessarily a must if your not running a big amount of power, but I put em on anyways for extra protection. And in the rear, def want some spring clamps at least, but trac bars and spring clamps are even better. Im just running spring clamps for now but I plan on either buying or building a set of trac bars at some point here.

Hope this helps you some. Keep looking around and searching threads and asking questions at the local pulls, most guys seem pretty willing to help you out as much as they can from what i've seen so far.
