: GM now has employee prices 2006, want lbz
IBSWAMPY 08-25-2005, 04:33 PM I heard on the radio today GM extended the employee prices for 2006
H.D. PICKUPS. Now I need one more thing, when is the LBZ Duramax
coming out. I called a dealer he says that at the end of Sept the deal will end (maybe) I am waiting for a deal and LBZ.
Will I be able to get both????????:grd: Jim
Does a 2wd get better MPG ??
mole177 08-25-2005, 05:09 PM I doubt there will be 2006 employee pricing. What they possibly meant was that the 2005's inventory will go through 2006 ?
IBSWAMPY 08-25-2005, 05:20 PM I just heard it on the radio and I called a dealer. GM has employee pricing
on 2005 and 2006 HD PICKUPS until Sept 30 as of now. The dealer does not has all of the details yet. But my problem is I want employee pricing and a LBZ, He thinks he won't be able to order an LBZ until Oct or Nov and by that time they may end employee pricing. I would like both and I am not in a hurry.

I can feel your pain IBSWAMPY. I'm in the same boat but I need to wait until April to order mine.
Good luck on your puchase!
Pete
Fluke 08-25-2005, 06:26 PM My dealer has indicated that employee prices on 2006 HD'S will only apply to vehicles in inventory on the lot. I will not be able to order a 2006 and get employee prices. However, I will be able to order my truck as I want it built and still qualify for a Supplier Discount. He also does not have a date for when the LBZ will be available. Will wait for the LBZ.........
koolz 08-25-2005, 09:34 PM the reason there extending it to the 06 hd pickup is there is lots of extra inventory of the 06 lly we start the new 06 here in a month or so, so theres tons of stuff to get rid of
self services 08-25-2005, 10:34 PM koolz, What is the different on the 2006 LLY than the LBZ? The new LLY looks completly different and feels more powerful than the 2004.5 LLY that I had. I was waiting for GMS pricing.
RVerFulltime 08-26-2005, 01:31 AM When the LBZ becomes avaliable, I too am planning on ordering it. I "HOPE" there is a good pricing deal for me!
RichLockyer 08-26-2005, 02:28 AM F'ing wonderful.
I just picked up a new 2500HD D'max Saturday.
$53k OTD with Lojack, shell, and 3/100k extended warranty -:t
Scott Miller 08-26-2005, 10:27 AM I was told by my dealer I could order the LBZ after 9/12/05

zukeman 08-26-2005, 11:13 AM Scott,
I was told the same thing. He showed me a copy of the letter stating that the LBZ can be ordered after September 9th.
howard_m18 08-26-2005, 11:44 AM HI YOU ALL & you will still be able to get G.M. Supplier Discount Pricing until the end of the year! It isn't as cheap BUT it is a good deal if you can't get a discount yourself. It is also a NO-Hassle Deal in that the G.M.S.D. is on the invoice & a set price. Some dealer won't accept them is the only problem. We can only pass out 2 #'s per month per employee & that is why we request that you find out if your dealer will honor a G.M.S.Discount Authorization# before we go through the process. It only takes a matter of mins. to get a #. I, personally have got 1 for a person & called him back at the dealership. These work on a vehicle that is ordered or picked up at the dealership. Any questions, feel free to contact me OR TIM for details. You can send me a e-mail = howard_m18@yahoo.com. Howard
aquaelvis 08-26-2005, 12:07 PM I was at the dealer last night looking at a Tahoe for the wife, he said the GMS pricing is still on for 2006 BUT the rebate went from $3000 to $1000. Just a heads up, there is still a $2k jump for an '06. In the Tahoe I think I will just get the 2005, don't need the same SUV for $2k more.
drtrash 08-26-2005, 01:07 PM Howard, your the man, hope to take advantage of your generosity. Waiting for new motor. I'm sure GM will sweeten the pot as time goes on. Its a battle for truck sales and they don't want to give to Dodge.
IBSWAMPY 08-26-2005, 02:05 PM I was told by my dealer I could order the LBZ after 9/12/05
I just sent an email to my dealer, I hope your dealer is right.
I would like to order one, Ext cab, long bed and 2wd. I know it is an odd truck but that is what I want. :cool2:

I couldn't of said it better drtrash. If things go well, I will be putting my order in March of 2006. At that time, I would like to request a G.M.S.D number.
Thank you Howard!
Pete..:)

Odd? I want the same things except a crew cab. :cool2: I prefer to think of it as unique.
howard_m18 08-26-2005, 10:13 PM IBSSWAMPY & PFLORENAZO, your "BABY" will be built at my plant, Pontiac East. Would you want me to do my special inspection on it? That is where I inspect it for flaws, kick the L/H front fender & then sign your owners manual? Howard
Skynut 08-27-2005, 01:17 PM Newbie here and I am also trying to get a new 06 with the employee pricing. My dealer to ld me the pricing is only for the LLY and when the LBZ becomes available the pricing will not apply.
My dealer has a 06 comming before the end of the month and I am not sure if I should get it or wait.
DOes anyone know if the new 06 LLY has any of the radiator and cooling improvements yet or is all that on hold for the LBZ?
SKynut
aquaelvis 08-27-2005, 01:59 PM I posted this in the other section as well but just wanted you '06 guys to know it. I just got a dealer to come an EXTRA $2500 off of GMS price on a 2005 Yukon LT.
I bet they would do it on others as well. I thought that the GMS was the drop-dead, no haggle price, turns out it is not.
Just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

The only truck I bought new was a 1977 big 3/4 ton Chevy, hauled a 11 ft camper to Alaska, 11,000 miles in 2 months, great truck.
I think that was built is Poniac also. I am looking into placing an order if GM helps and gives me a good deal. I would like to have a nice new Duramax by next spring. SURE INSPECT IT, kick the tires, and sign the book. That would be great. A freind bought an off brand F O R D
and he went to the factory to see it being built. But that was an off brand. DO YOU WAX THEM ALSO, FILL IT UP WITH FUEL:grd:

For that kind of money, it better have been completely decked out. I priced a sweet Silverado 2500 Dmax/allison cc/lb with alot of extras at $30,800 (plus TT&L).
aztowbum 08-27-2005, 04:57 PM Uh 50+ At that Price I could Buy a nice used Heavy Volvo or other that would last almost forever to tow a 5er. Ouch

my truck stickered for $49,5xx and I paid $36,4xx for it. Just now priced a loaded '06, with the lly, i figure the LBZ will be $500-ish more, so I should be able to get a 06 for around the low $40's:ro)
RichLockyer 08-27-2005, 10:12 PM For that kind of money, it better have been completely decked out. I priced a sweet Silverado 2500 Dmax/allison cc/lb with alot of extras at $30,800 (plus TT&L).
It stickered at 49 minus 2k rebate. It's a loaded LT3 4x4 D'max... leather, running boards, Onstar, XM, Bose, etc...
The only thing I wanted that it doesn't have is a sunroof, and I can live without that.
Like I said, that's about 53 OTD, California sales tax (7.65%), license, etc, including $1800 for a 3/100k extended warranty, LoJack, and a $2k Snugtop.
Backing out the "extras", it would have been about 48k OTD (1k more than sticker minus rebate). Still not a stellar deal, but I'm generally happy if I can get OTD for anything near sticker. It just pisses me off that maybe I could have saved another 3k or so.
He really wanted me to buy the silver CC/LB/3500 that he had on the lot. Offered the same price on it. I didn't want silver, I didn't want a LB, and I really didn't care to go to a 3500, so I made him drive to a dealership 60 miles away to pick up mine.
I posted photos in another thread here:

GMC fleet manager would build my truck (with the sunroof) for $43k.
bybycop 08-28-2005, 11:25 PM Just got my cc/short bed dmax SLT with leather for $36,400 out the door. Been real happy with it.

Hi Howard,
Absolutely, that would be nice to talk to someone from here who actually performed the inspection on my truck. Now if I'm going to order the truck in March or April of next year, when would it be a good time to request the GMS number from you?
Thank you,
Pete..:)
Cobra#3747 08-29-2005, 10:47 PM tell me your joking. You paid $53,000 for all that?????
You dont think he just might be in Canada and that was what he paid cdn?
RichLockyer 08-29-2005, 11:03 PM You dont think he just might be in Canada and that was what he paid cdn?
Nope... may as well be though... these trucks are in HIGH demand here in SoCal.
There's more 3/4 and 1 ton Diesels on the road than there are Corollas :D
Like I said... it's a loaded 2006 LT3 CC, stickered at 49k, with a 2k shell, 2k extended warranty, and $700 Lojack system. California has 7.75% sales tax, which is another $3500 or so. Doc fees, advertising fees... there's a lot of crap that adds up.
The best deal that the GMC fleet manager could give me was 43k plus all of the above... and that was on an ordered vehicle. I got mine off of the lot.
My best deal was an '04 Rav4 for $100 over invoice. With the taxes and fees, it ended up about $500 over sticker OTD.
howard_m18 08-29-2005, 11:23 PM PFLORENZANO, FIRST THINGS FIRST. Be sure the dealer will honor a G.M.Supplier Discount Authorization#. As we only get 2 per month & once they are assigned to a person, they can't be exchanged to another person's birthday & S.S.#. You wouldn't us to waste a # would ya?? It takes 2 mins. or less by computer so anytime before it gets to the dealership. 1 week early won't hurt you or I. F.Y.I. The one I gave out is expiring on 2/23/06 right now! Howard

Hi Howard,
That is totally understandable. Of course I wouldn't want you to waste the code on anyone. I'm just a little anxious, my apologies..:)
I will ask my local dealer if they will honor the GMS code. If they don't honor it, I will find a dealer that will. If that's the case, I will ask you for a number in September.
Thanks again,
Pete
Cobra#3747 08-30-2005, 07:13 PM Well allrighty then... guess I was wrong on that one...lol
Then again, I dont count California as part of the USA anyway ;)

Neither do I, to a degree.
It's pretty sad... if you look at a county by county red/blue colored map of Ca, it looks just like the map of the US. I'm in a red county :D
