A good friend of mine is going to sell his 2002 Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 Crew Cab with the Duramax to me for $18,000. It has 120,000 miles on it and is in decent shape. After a good detail job it should be in excellent condition. The injectors were replaced two months ago and have warranty on them to 200,000 miles. LS package with leather interior. It also has new 285 Michelins. What do you guys think. I think its a heck of a deal. Do you think this truck has plenty of life left. He drives 80 miles a day roundtrip to work hence the high mileage other than that its a grocery getter that hasen't had a tough life.

He told me he would sell it to me for what the dealer offered him on a trade in. We all know how that goes.....

So you should be able to get it for about $5,000.:joke:
Sounds like a good deal to me too.

There is no way any dealer will give that much in trade for a lb7 w/ 120k on it, unless they hike the price of the new truck way up! Like I said, bewtween 16-17k. You can find one elswhere for 16-17k easily

I looked for a long time and the best I could do was $18,500. I bought it with 128k and I would do it over again. I can tell it was well taken care of and it sounds like the one you are looking at was to. I say go for it.

The dealer bgave me 19,000 for an LS 02 CC 4x4 back in May. Mine had a couple smal dents in the hood to boot. They sold it the very next day for 23,000. I miss that truck. I say jump all over it,and don't look back.

Well being a good friend and buying somthing of that price from him may turn the tables on the friendship. If the truck has problems you may hold him acountable for it and if you get him to come down on the price he will probably be bitter about it.
Just talking from experience.
But if you are still very interested in it I would go for it. In AK there may be a hand full of used Duramaxes if that on car lots. A dealer I know has been looking for a LB7 localy for a year now for him self with no luck.
Tell him you will give him $17,000 cash right now. If he takes it than get a loan at the bank (if needed). They have good rates now from what I have seen.
