Has anyone ventured into coolent filtration with there Duramax? If so, what has your experience been? Anybody with comments on this subject please post too!

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject, but this is the first that I've heard on the subject of coolant filtration on these engines. I have been following this forum with much interest because I am planning to buy an '05 2500HD D/A and plan to add a secondary fuel filter for sure. Now I wondering about the importance of coolant filtration. Can anyone give me some guidance here? What is the reason for this filter?
