: LML: Water/Meth on an LML???
Swinks11 05-06-2011, 11:29 AM Bought a new 2011 Duramax a few months ago, and like my other 2 duramax's I would like more power that stock. Dont want to start cuting exhaust off, and dont want to pour the fuel on hard with programers ( and regen like crazy ). I started looking into water/meth as an DPF friendly approach and power without black smoke. Has anyone done this on an 11? With the urea injection and o2 sensor(s), DPF, 9th injector in exhaust..... Is water/meth going to make it though all the exhaust Bullsh#$ without thowing codes or worse?
hogstroker 05-08-2011, 08:20 PM He swinks, i'm with you on this thought. I put it on the LLY and I am thinking on the LML. I would just like to find a way to make it warranty proof, not sure if that can work. I am not looking for power but mileage like many others.
Iceman56 05-08-2011, 10:41 PM You are not gonna see much at all, if any, power gains from a stock truck IMO... Now if your maxing out the turbo to its limits that is where I think you will see the most gains

Nothing warranty proof any more. Be carefull what you install on this new truck because you may be towing it home. I have been testing a lot of stuff and there were times I didn't think I would make it home or back to work.
hogstroker 07-15-2011, 11:23 PM Just wanting to bump this one. With the 2005 watermeth got rid of the wispy smoke. Wondering if that is going on in the 2011's and giving more regens.
Has anyone tried this yet?
403DMAX 08-01-2011, 01:04 AM Hey man, I dont know if this helps your exact question, but I do have the snow stage 3 on my LML. I am running the H&S Black Maxx and everything is deleted. The water/meth works mint! The new turbo and fuel map builds boost so quickly, it allows the water to inject early when set on low. For the question you were interested in though, the system is intended to lower egts. Therefore, I would imagine that the effects would hinder passive regen. Actually, if the system was turned on, it would probably start injecting if the truck went into active regen bc of the elevated exhaust temps ;)
Jason_2500 08-31-2011, 02:55 PM I have a similar tuner/exhaust setup but I would love to use the Urea tank for meth. Snow performance has some new setup, MPG-MAX I believe it's called. How does the tuning get into the truck? Does Snow performance have a programmer you plug into the ODB? How does a H&S programmer work in conjunction?

Second that, have to find a new use for the urea tank.

Jason_2500 09-02-2011, 07:05 PM Your signature doesnt inspire a lot of confidence in your setup. Haha, just messin with yah.
lotsofmiles 09-02-2011, 09:13 PM Don't worry I'm changing it now. Finally got my truck baCk.

Hey bud, do you mean the Snow Comp One system? I dont think its out yet, but from the info avail and through discussions I had with Snow reps at SEMA show, the new system will integrate an all-in-one setup where the tune is provided in a downloader/display much like that of an H&S tuner. Im also assuming the tune is loaded through the OBD port and will be downloaded similarly. Your last question about the H&S tune with the snow, in my truck its nearly perfect. It needs to be taliored accordingly with the tune level as expected, but otherwise operation is seamless. Im running the large and small nozzles and it never overquenches on HOT tune. It can be a bit much for the lower tunes but easily adjusted. I run straight water most of the time and use the system more of an MPG-max than as a power adder. It definitely prooves its value when towing!
