I've had my D-max since August 2003 I installed my 4 inch exhaust first and then I added a K&N intake kit followed by a hypertech. I am happy with the performance but I have the itch to do something else to it now. I have to do my things slowly so my wife does not catch the charges on the card. Any suggestions?

If you get gauges, then you'll HAVE to get more stuff... Or if you already have 'em, then you'll HAVE to get more stuff anyway.Edited by: conradv

I got busted telling her my exhaust was loud because it was a diesel. She was smart enough to see that my tip was huge and she all of a sudden has to talk over the engine. One of my selling points about the dmax was because it was so quiet. I am not a good liar.

I like it. I took my truck in to the dealership today and the service writer was telling me about the Owner of the dealership and how he swears by them. I took mine out for the service visit and I could not wait to get it back in.

Did your dealer say anything about cranking the T-bars up?

How ruff is the ride?handling?

how was mileage changed with the 285's

They told me my truck was shaking when I stopped because of the tbars and tires. Then I made the supervisor drive it and he said it was my rotors warped (10,000 miles). They suggested to reallign every 10-15000 miles but they agree it makes the truck look tougher. I am in the process of researching lift kits so the tbars are only a temporary fix. The ride is o.k. you really only notice going over pot holes but other than that I like it. I honestly think it handles a bit better. Maybe because of the tires and tbars combo, but I was satisfied for now. My mileage with the tires and the hypertech (3rd stage) is around 17.9 or so depending on how many hemis and cummings I feel like messing with.

noproblem: I too have the T-bars up with a set of 285's and they do give it a lot meaner look than stock. They make it look more evened out I guess you could say, and mine arent even all the way.

I would think the dealer would talk about premature wear on the front end and all the damage you were doing with the bars up. Mileage sounds good.

They did not say anything to me but it makes since. Maybes because I have bought 7 chevy vehicles from them since 11-02 they know they are going to fix it anyway.

No, I own a carpet cleaning business so I have bought 5 - 1 ton vans, My wifes Tahoe and My dmax. Would you believe I grew up in a ford family? My dad I am sure is rollimg over in his grave looking down in my drive way.
