I don’t know if this is the right form or not to place this but I have a general (stupid) question. I have 08 LMM. Stock it’s rated at 365hp. Is that Rear Wheel HP or motor output HP. The reason I ask is I’m running PPE level 3 tune that supposed to be an extra 120hp. I also install a DPF delete exhaust, EGR blocker and air box modification. I’m assuming that the extra PPE 120hp is the motor output HP and not RWHP. If that’s the case does anyone know what is the true HP or RWHP that I’m putting out over stock? I’m looking at other modifications like trany rebuild and upping the PPE to higher levels which requires more fuel and air as well but I’d like to know where I’m at right now.

With your plans, what kind of power were you looking at making?

I dont really know just yet. I'd like to up my truck to level 5 on my PPE programmer and then see how i like it from there. But I need trany work and new injectors / fuel pump first. The reason I started asking is because I have been reading the threads about air intakes and that the OEM is good for up to 500hp. Well is that rwhp or fly wheel hp. becasue if the truck is stock w/ 365 and i input level 3 which is 120hp thats 485hp. And if or when I install the AFE Hot Side Intercooler Tube Upgrade with the Turbo Inlet Manifold that should give me a little more hp. What you think?

Your turbo mouthpiece is a good piece, no reason to change it. Injectors and turbo are good for around 550 HP. Start with a lift pump and proper gauges. From there you can get your tranny built to handle to extra power. If you plan on upgrading the turbo then plan on EFILive in order to properly tune the turbo in.

Lift pump for sure and right now im running CTS Insight from egde. About EFI Live. Do they offer tunes or do i have to have to down load them from somewhere else? I have a problem buying a tune from some ya hew that thinks he knows what he's doing and then screws my truck up.

With EFI you can-
1)Order a pretuned ECM from a good tuner like duramaxtuner.com or Kennedy. Its a plug and play setup.
2)Get a V2 scanner and purchase tunes off the internet from companies like the ones listed above. Then flash the tunes into the truck
3)Buy the software and write your own tunes, then flash them into the truck. This is expensive this way, and you can mess up the truck easy if your not careful writing the tunes.

Buy the V2 from a reputable tuner, then you can purchase tunes from him and he can email them to you. Most tuners offer a free tune or two with the purchase of the hardware.
