So I want to run in the local 100ft shootout in town on fathers day weekend, there also going to be a dyno there too apparently, so I got a couple questions. First off, my tranny is totally stock except for the ppe pan. I want to run my predator tuner at 100hp. I have limped this truck twice in 5th gear on the 65hp tune, am I gonna limp again on this shootout? I figured on running in tow/haul mode, and locking out O/D for good measure.
Should I bother clamping the rear springs for this? I'm gonna run it in 4wd anyways but I'm still not quite sure.
Also, I have a airdog 165 II and Banks monster boost tubes on the way, so I'm assuming that I won't have any fueling issues or airflow problems. Am I overthinking this at all? Thanks for the imput.

More than likely you will limp it again, LOL you do mean 1000ft right? That would be a short race! Even running 4 wheel drive it is good to go ahead a clamp springs to. Also lower your torsion bars as well.

I dont think you will limp it, before my trans was built, I only limped in 5th on my EFI race tune. Probably gonna be done on a street without any traction agents down, you will need all the grip you can get. Clamp the rears, air down the tires and be sure to lower the torsions. Build it to 10 psi and let her eat...

100 feet?? You should be fine. I've limped mine on the 100 hp Predator tune 2-3 times in 5th, but it'll hold nearly anything you throw at it in 1-3. Be sure you have tie rod sleeves... and put it in tow/haul and launch in 4WD.
Of course you could always break something... but that's the risk you take - be it 10 feet or 1000 feet. Good luck!

Right on, thanks for the tips! Im gonna look up the spring clamp stuff in the sled pulling section right now and buy the stuff i need soon. Am i gonna have to get a alignment if i lower the bars down? I think they are cranked right now...

yep as impressive as 100 feet sounds, thats all i got to work with . Im gonna be building the tranny soon anyway, so might as well grenade it having fun right? Ive been screwing around town doing boosted launches in tow/haul mode in 2wd on the 80 hp tune and holy crap that thing flys!
Yea you will be fine. Give em hell!
Thanks! I hope to put a couple muscle cars to shame.:D

I've adjusted my t bars up and down lots of times and never needed an alignment.

my front end shop told me that adjusting the torsion bars does change your alignment, it may be just enough to make your tires wear more on the inside or outside but im sure its minimal. so when i had my alignment done i left them rather low and it stays like that.
