Went to chevy/com today and saw some pictures of the 2006's...they come with a different Duramax badge!! It has the Allison tranny logo and says "Allison Transmission" and then right next to that it says "Duramax"

I want one for my truck!!!

also saw that the half tonner's now have the HD hood and grille...and theres a new engine called the "Vortec MAX" designed to sit the Hemi in its place:ro)

The 06 models I saw just had the regular Duramax Diesel badge......

Maybe that is just for the LBZ D-max. I went to my local Chevy dealer today to check out the 2006 HD's. I must say, the new mirrors look awesome. They make the truck look tougher, especially from a frontal view. The pics i saw really don't do it any justice. From the pics I seen they looked horrible, but seeing them in person, they look awesome, better that the other ones. Although, the new on-star antenna looks horrible. It looks like a big shark fin on the roof, ugly !!

I went over to Chevy.com but didn't see that pic. I was also looking for the color selector to see the new colors and it was nowhere to be found....for any vehicle. I must be blind.

The On-star antenna is the way it is because XM is combined with it now, no more XM antenna on passenger side, it's all one unit now. As far as the new mirrors go, I think they're UGLY, BOXY and BULKY -:t , I can't believe GM couldn't do better than that!.

Maybe the LBZ Duramax's will get the new badge...who knows...as for the shark attach OnStar antenna, i like mine the way it is; separate XM and OnStar antennas...cause personally I like how all the antennas on the roof look, along with my roof marker lamps...makes it look like an airplane or space ship!:ro)

The Vortec Max is the 6L. It's 360 hp and 385 ft/lbs torque. Pretty powerful for that size motor."No, it doesn't have a Hemi. We don't need no stinking Hemi's."

I don't know...they could have made those some good looking mirrors if they had only leveled them out....

Chevyracing the shark fin antenna you were looking at is also for the XM Satellite radio. I don't mind it. Pretty low profile.

scguy, the diesel place does not allow links to the diesel page and vice versa. There is a little friction between the 2 sites.

i saw the mirrors in person, cannot say i am impressed. man they look like that kids ears in grade school people made fun of. whimpy connecting arms as well, why cant GM take a hint from people who are happy with the TTTs and base something off of them. better quality too. Ford has the edge for stock mirrors.

i will stick with my TTTs, they are what should have come on the truck in the first place

cool badge though, how thick is it ?
