I have a 2004.5 GMC D/A. I would like to do as much of the routine maintence as practical. I have been reading the diesel supplement to the owneres manual and feel pretty confident to do most of it but there is a section C having to do with yearly inspections. There is a cooling system inspection, exaust system inspection, steering and suspension system inspection, brake system inspection and maybe one more that I can't think of right now. The manual specifies that these inspections should be done by the dealer. How important do you guys think these yearly inspections are? Should I have it done by a professional? If I bought a service manual would it have step by step procedures and list of specific things to check? Are special tools required?

90% of your inspections are visual, the rest is just checking for looseness (ex. steering/suspension). They cannot void warrenty because you didn't bring it back to the dealer for mantanence, but they may ask for proof of services being done. Get in good with one dealer and one person and you shouldn't have any problems with warrenty claims.:cool2:

as rttoys stated, you can do, just make sure you log it as date and mileage in your book. I haven't come across a dealer that had asked, but then again, I have had no troubles with mine and I do my own maintenance and inspections.

NCMIC, do you have any pics of your truck? I would like to get the REVO's also and would like to see how they look on your truck. I have General Grabber's on my current 04.5 but am getting a new one today (05) and of course it will have the pizza slicers on it. We'll see how long I can stand them this time around.

But if you had some pictures of the truck with the tires then that would be great. Those REVO's look real nice all the way around!
