I do a lot of city driving and right now I'm averaging about 14.5 mpg. I currently have no modifications done to my gmc sierra 2500HD with a duramax. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on products or ways to improve my mpg. Thanks.

i noticed my biggest increase after I removing the Cat and muffler. I also have the Predator to and seen a lil more after that. I can get 20-21.5 on the highway running 70 or so, empty

I just got 20 MPG on #2, little bit of highway and "Stoplight to Stoplight" driving. Only 6k on the truck now and my mileage is getting better. I have the MBRP pipe and predator set on 65 HP tune.

I've also heard rumors that my gas mileage will increase after 10k miles. Is this fact or fiction. Let me know. Right now I'm at about 3,500 miles and I havent noticed any change in my mpg.

My stock 2004.5 2500HD 4x4 will get 28mpg @ 55mph when running empty. I do have Michelin 265/75-16s on the stock wheels. But it drops to around 20.5mpg @ 70mph.

I think what he was getting at...for a diesel it is Fuel mileage. You would get horrible gas mileage. It was pretty funny though. I pretty much understood what you were asking. I usually get 16 in town and 18-19 on the highway. Check my signature for mods.

Ours are broke in. It takes about 15000-50000 miles to get it "broke in". I know of other people around here that bought theirs new and it seems to get better mileage. Of course you need to see if the other people have the LLY or LB7 engine. It seems that the LB7 gets a little better mileage. Also, when you fill up, calculate your mileage by hand. This is the only true way to know since the DIC could and most likely is wrong... The truck needs to learn how you drive before getting better mileage. Some mods help too, most hurt the mileage some because you are having more fun. I figure I bought it to drive it and haul stuff. Having more info on your truck would help too.

For me it was FACT. by 10k I was oil change number 3, and fuel filter nubmer 3. I'm getting about 17 around town and some highway (daily commute is about 50/50). 20 ~21 on just highway empty. I got 11.5K on the clock.
