Two questions...

Is it possible to run low 14s with a stock trans..?

If yes what Combo has shown those results?

If no, how fast would you guys estimate an 03 extendcab would be with intake (afe stage 2?) exhaust (4.5inch str8) and reproggraming (edge st3 perhaps?)

Thx

Yes. You should be able to do that with a juice/attitude and a bit of practice and maybe loosing a bit of weight.

You could do it, but not for long. I ran 13.9 on a stock trans. But 5 passes limped it.

Well I guess I must be slow as is my truck. I was only able to muster a 14.66 with a Suncoast III and Predator set to kill in my LLY. I was running in 2WD, had lots of extra weight in the toolbox, and I'm totally new to drag racing.

What have other guys seen with my setup when running in 4WD?

ahhh, finnaly numbers. Thats good to know, i assume that would be wit the juice on 5??
What other mods are there out there for this truck...ive read a few things but nothing all that informative.. Just beef up the trans and stack chips?

How much do tirerod sleeves run for and could you explain exactly what they do for the engine?

Tierod sleeves are $150, saves you from breaking tierods when doing a boosted 4x4 launch. Get them here https://ssl.perfora.net/www.superdieselperformance.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=15430d03ab05229/shopdata/index.shopscript

Tie rod sleeves dont do anything for the engine...they simply strengthen the tie rods. The Duramax has so much torque that it will make the front wheels go pidgeon toed if you dont strengthen the tie rods. Worst case scenario...you break a tie rod and then you have no steering and the truck goes out of control! SuperDiesel Performance sells popular sleeves (a set of 2) for 150$. I love them, and they're easy to put on (although I had a bit of pro help from Diesel Dragon!)...now I can do boosted 4 wheel drive launches and not worry about the front end....only my tranny!! I usually find that braking and then revving to about 2000 RPM and then simualtaniously letting off the brake and matting the gas gives the best launches. The acceleration from about 0-30 MPH literally throws your stomach back! I cant really hold it past 2100-2200 RPM because it starts to slip past the brakes...

If you brake & then punch it, boost will jump really quick. I found that out the hard way.

I have run in the low to mid 14s in 1/4 without any tranny mods, but had to beef it up after it slipped a few times.

14.20's on stock tranny, 2wd launch, 35 inch tires, Juice on 125hp.

My tranny is starting to weaken though, every once in a while I see the backdown % go up.

I'm going to th track to try to get into the very high 13's on my stock trans. tomorrow. I'll post back my results. I got a 14.322 once, but I want to duplicate it and maybe go faster. I am ging to stack the edge w/ the Predator on 100hp.

not really worried bout those bars now (when i do im sure ill ask you guys)..i owe 5k on the truck still and just put chrome door handles& mirrors,a new grille, clear headlights/turning signals and smoked tail lights on it... I plan on getting exhaust very soon.
Corsa sounds pretty badass, only qualm I have with their system is you cant hear the turbo...and i love the turbo whine.
also what are the real differences between a 4inch or 5inch str8 pipe..

screw the sound, save your $$ & get a predator for $100 more
your stock intake will be good up to 600hp
