Hey guys will I need a different trans gauge with an aftermarket tranny or can I use the factory? Sorry if it is a stupid question I am a newbie with these Duramax I have been a Cummins man and wised up.):h ):h

Oh my truck is a 05 GMC SLT Duramax with Allison 4x4 crew cab short bed.:ro) :ro)

Stock trans temp gauge will work correctly

Okay thanks. I have noticed where some of the guys on here have them aftermarket is that just so they can keep a better eye on there tranny?

Some guys need a lot of gauges in their cabs. Nothing wrong with that. I have checked many Duramax trans gauges with a Tech 2 and found most of them within 5 degrees. That is a whole lot better than most aftermarket ones that usually are off by 20 degrees at 200F.

I agree, After running sensor voltage output last week and concurrently running a 1/100th resolution digital gauge my readings were only about 1 degree different. Repeatability was also dead on between the sensor/gauge and gauge/gauge. It was once said here that the factory gauge was cheap. To the contrary of that statement my gauge is surprisingly accurate.
