wyattroa 08-23-2005, 10:23 AM Im looking at getting the MBRP exhuast system and i am stuck on which one to get. Is there any difference with the sinle and compared to the dual besides for looks? any sound or performance difference? Also if you have bought from a vender and can vouch for them being a great business to deal with let me know as well. thanks again

ratlover 08-23-2005, 11:03 AM duals will spred the sound and smoke. Just a bling thing though, not a perf thing
dh515 08-23-2005, 11:16 AM I bought the duals from Diesel Performance Parts, a vendor on this site. I was concerned about them being too loud as I had an issue with another truck with a constant drone at towing speed. No such problem with these. They sound great (not too loud-I stil have my Cat in), are of high quality and DPP was awesome to deal with. Quick shipping and I believe they guarantee low price.
wyattroa 08-23-2005, 08:20 PM So the front pipe will make the biggest difference then? I am all about sounds and performance. If anyone that is into cars know i built a 89 mustang LX with a 347 stroker aluminum heads and a 8-71 blower on it! talk about power 700 horse the the wheels. and the engine came to the roof of my car.):h

ratlover 08-24-2005, 10:33 AM getting the factory muff outa there will amek the biggest difference
DSTRBD 08-24-2005, 11:01 AM Duals will give you zero performance gain over a single 4" system. As previously mentioned, its for the bling factor. Personally, I prefer the single system as it is easier to install and is all you really need. Take the money you saved on it and put it towards a trans. in the future as Im sure you will need it. Let me know if I can help with anything.
JRZ2500HD 08-24-2005, 11:13 AM The easiest way to get the stocker out is to have the truck up on ramp on all four tires. That way you have room to twist it over the axle.
RedRiceEater 08-24-2005, 12:07 PM If you tow you may want to go with the single to keep the smoke/soot off of whatever you are pulling. ;)
Mark Craig 08-24-2005, 12:32 PM wyattroa,
Slight and I mean slight difference in EGT's, nothing to talk about otherwise as far as performance though between a single and a dual system. The cool factor really is fun though, smoke into two ricers at one time from each side at stop lights etc etc.
That Mustang sounds waaaay strong, we vinatge race a 1966 Shebly, figured you'd want to know others are still working old horses at the track!!
Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help you.

How would that really make any difference?
ssduramax 08-24-2005, 02:42 PM How would that really make any difference?
sure it would... on the left side ):h
DuckhunterInTN 08-24-2005, 03:35 PM sure it would... on the left side ):h
I would prefer my trailer to be equally dirty on both sides....:D
DURAtotheMAX 08-24-2005, 03:56 PM Well no, there is no performance difference...but nothing looks cooler than the duals!!! And I only have to glance at the drivers side mirror to see the smoke pouring out, rather than turn my head towards the passenger side! The MBRP is a great set-up...rumbles enough to sound like a "performance exhaust" but in no way drones and gets annoying on the highway...I love it. It was really easy to install too...only bugger was getting the stupid stock exhaust out. Personally I went with the T-409 stainless...couldnt really justify the extra ~350$ that the T-304 stainless costs.

wyattroa 08-24-2005, 06:26 PM I have been reading on here that people are buying clamps as well when buying the exhaust. Is this needed? i thought the kit came with everything.

wyattroa 08-24-2005, 06:46 PM does anyone know people that have the silverline Dual exhaust. it says its a turbo back 4in system and it is around $720.00. It looks like a real nice system just dont know much about it.
robert
RedRiceEater 08-24-2005, 10:27 PM clamps... i wouldn't bother since i had about 3-4 left over from my install. if you want to use band clamps instead then you'll need to order some.
DSTRBD 08-25-2005, 10:53 AM wyattroa- Silverline makes a very nice system. The turbo back is actually a down-pipe back system as no one offers a true DP as far as I know. The systems are priced right and come with dual wall tips. One hold up though is the T409 and aluminized duals are not yet available. We are told mid to end of September on those systems. Check our website for more info and give us a call if you have any questions.
Mark Craig 08-25-2005, 05:04 PM DuckhunterInTN,
You're right the soot won't really get on the truck unless you're running some monster programmer or module, most everyone that we sell duals to gets tips too, so you can adjust them in or out to cure any soot problem you might have, being able to smoke ricers on both the left and right sides is also a lottt of fun!

Mark Craig 08-25-2005, 05:05 PM wyattroa,
Some folks prefer the "look" of band clamps, the clamps that come with the MBRP duals or singles are plated to prevent corrosion and look fine, it's just a preference some members have. The Silverline is a knock off of the MBRP systems, the used to buy from MBRP. The MBRP is basically the same price as what you quoted and is made in North America. Call us if you have any questions etc.

JJs DuMax 08-25-2005, 05:26 PM I have the 4" cool duals with SS tips, freaken awesome sound. Since I have a dually both of my bubble butt fenders get a little soot on them, THE MANLEE LOOK!
Got them from Mark Craig, stand up vendor with a great product. You don't see many, if any complaints on the MBRP exhaust systems. Ooh, a quick side note. The muffler shop that did my install only used one clamp, they welded all the other joints. No drone or vibration, SWEET! Later. JJ :)
