My new truck that I ordered is being delayed due to Manufacturer Paint Constraints.
So it looks like it will be at least four more weeks before my order will begin...
This is very bothering.
Waiting on a CCLB GMC 2500HD Storm Grey Metallic.
Anyone else's order hit this same snag?

I have heard that there are numerous problems with all manufacturers since a tsunami hit Japan a month ago. Between that and the nuclear problems it seems that there is a severe shortage of some chemicals & pigments used in various paint products.

There is a shortage on metallic paint on new orders due to the natural disasters in Japan. Key question here is when did you order and do you know your status?
I ordered on 3/30 and moved to status 3400 today. The constraints were placed sometime shortly after my order was placed. I guess I got lucky there. I hope mine continues to go smoothly and yours will hit the line sooner than you think.

Order placed on 4-5. Tried to get it week or so before but the guy at the GMC dealership was lagging at getting back to me.
So guess I'm going to be sitting around for at least 4 weeks, hoping GM gets something.
Just talked to dealer guy the other day, he said just wait and see if it gets picked up any sooner. But most sales guys are far behind the curve with details and all.

When I ordered mine back at the end of January my order was delayed due to a backorder on the oem 20" wheels. I was pretty bummed out.

So GM stopped all production of storm grey metallic and what ever chevy calls it for the rest of the production year...
But got lucky local dealership ordered the exact truck I wanted to order plus a few things. So I am taking it, its coming in next week or so. It will be a chevy vs GMC but honestly I don't care either way.

I went to buy a new truck and wanted the taupe grey chevy. The dealer had one on order with what I wanted for options and said it should be leaving anyday. I have been waitng a month for it to ship. They pulled some strings and got it bumped inline to get shipped and it was on rail last week. It should be rolling anyday now.

My dealer ordered a truck for my dad the day I picked up my truck (March 11) and it was delivered to him on April 28th. Six weeks is pretty good turn around I think.

I agree, I was awfully surprised when mine arrived in 5 weeks! :)

Sold orders get preference over dealer stock orders. If your dealer fills out the paperwork correctly, the truck is usually built pretty quick. I have had contact with more than one person who was waiting and waiting only to find out the dealer did check the "sold order" box.
