: CTS boost reading

I'm only showing up to 22lb of boost. Is this because of the factory MAP sensor? Is there a MAP w/ a wider range, or do I need to get a boost gauge?

I would also like to know. Im tossed on the CTS or Banks IQ. Neither one does true boost from my understanding.

Yeap, factor sensor through the obii port limits. Edge product is finishing up a "true" boost sensor that will attach to the CTS.

so then, I will be stuck with my "non-piggyback" Pyro probe, and have to buy another one.. I think it would be a good idea for a company to make a plug and play map sensor that would give higher readings. *unless that's not possible?

01-05 Duramax's will top out at 22 psi reading boost through the ODBII port. LBZ and up will show accurate boost on the CTS. You would need the expandable system to piggyback additional EAS devices, but perhaps the mechanical boost option will be available with EAS allowing you to plug the EGT into it??? Time will tell.

The lbzs will top out at 22-24 too. The EAS boost sensor will piggy back into the EAS system. Edge is getting close to have this system ready.

So whats a better system CTS or Banks IQ???

No...it is not because of the sensor. The factor MAP sensor will read up to 55psia. There was a discussion about this a few months ago, I'll see if I can dig it up tomorrow.

Direct from edge, "when reading thur the obii port max you can read is 22-24"

Maybe that can only read max varibles from the stock parameters? With the juice, which gets its readings under the hood I could read 35 for sure.

Don't know how you got that "direct from Edge", but unfortunately that is definately bad intel. The Insight CS and CTS on the LBZ will definately display actual boost...

I test products for Edge from time to time & I talk with the guys all the time. I do not want to turn this into a bash, but you are not giving out correct information. The LBZ included, need to have the EAS system sensor to read true boost. Please feel free to give them a call to varify this... I have not seen over 22 on my truck either...

That is because Edge uses a data feed that will only display 37psia. There is another data feed that allows readings up to the limits of the sensor. The OP was asking about replacing the sensor. I wanted to make clear that the sensor was not the culprit, the data feed that the CTS reads is the culprit.

I've logged up to 35psi on LB7's and 36 on LLY's. The Banks iQ has been reported to read in excess of the 22-24psi cap, so it can be done if they read the right feed.

if the cts will only read up to 22 on the 01-05 motors, how come my 05 lly CTS shows in the record section that at one time i ran 27?

some people dont have their info correct on here.

Can you shed some more information? Which cts do you have? Evolution, race, insight or juice monitor cts? If you have the juice monitor cts that that can be. Where are you seeing this information? Not in a live reading, but in the records area? Thanks.

I have the CTS juice with attitude

The record is 27. If I run it hard like doing the quarter mile it will run 22-27 easily. I can try and take a pic this week when I'm running it to show y'all.

Of course it could be wrong. I just posted a thread about only running 3 pounds of boost at cruising so it could be wrong

So where do you tap in for true boost?

Yeap, I totally believe you there, if you are running the juice. That also backups what I have said & have heard from Edge. The juice with attitude " or CTS monitor" gets its information form a different place then the CTS programmers/insite does. The CTS Programmers/insite are limited to 22-24. Thank you for your information...

So, I should wait for edge to make a boost sensor that taps into my monitor, or just get a mechanical boost gauge?

I'd like to know as well.
