I believe there are 2 locatins the Silverado 2500 HDs are built; Flint Michigan and ...? I cannot recall the other location.

So if there are indeed two locations, what or who decides the locations? I have one on order sitting at 2030 for several days now and just wanted to get some information on where it may be built. TIA!

The other U.S. plant is Ft. Wayne, IN.. From what I understand it depends on your cab.
Crew cab and standard cabs are Flint, and extended cabs are Ft.Wayne..... I think.

my truck was built in fort wayne, indiana. it is my understanding that ext cabs are built in indiana and crews are built in michigan. i am listed as a "diesel head" so you may want to get a second opinion.lol

I have a regular cab 1500 being built, and I was speaking to a board member that works at the Ft. Wayne plant. This is what he told me:

"Up until one month ago, all of the regular cab HD pickups were built at Flint, and at Fort Wayne we did all of the light duty regular cabs. But now, Fort Wayne builds 100% of the regular cabs, HD or LD. This freed up capacity at Flint to start producing light duty crew cabs, as well as HD crew cabs. (Fort Wayne also builds all of the extended cab trucks, HD or LD)."

When a truck order is accepted it is given an order #, then usually in a few days it will have a TPW target production week assigned to it, yr dealer can follow the order number through every status if he chooses to.

TrevorD is right... I work at Fort Wayne and we have added the HD regular cab in addition to the HD extended cab... Flint can still build HD regular cab and LD regular cab depending on demand. Fort Wayne builds all of the extended cabs.
