Does the 1st oil change on a new 6.0 L need to be done earlier than 3K miles to clear out the "break-in oil"? I couldn't find any info on that in the manual, just the normal oil change stuff. Thanks!

I just changed the original oil in my 05, 8.1L at 3,700 miles.

I would, it wouldn't hurt anything by doing it, and it is cheap insurance. The last couple new vehicles I purchased I changed it out at 1000 miles.

I dont think it really matter's either way. I did mine at 2000 miles just for my own piece of mind but now that it's broke in I wait for the light to come on before I change it..

It can't hurt to change 1st oil early. Just to get rid of fine metal shaving from breaking in the new motor. I did mine at around 2K miles. Like PERM01 said, just for piece of mind.
