Took thr rear main out and replaced. Hade to fix the screen on oil pump and put the pump back on. Put everything back together and now its not building oil pressure. Does anyone have a thought?????

Do you have to prime the oil pump????

The oil pump driveshaft from the vacuum pump didn't fall out, I hope!

There was a hex shaft that came out with a plastic piece. the plastic broke. But i thought the plastic thing was for on gas when u pulled the destributer that shaft wouldnt come with it thats why i didnt put it back in. the pump workes fine. could we have plugged the port that goes through the block or does that plastic thing have anything to do with it or do we have to to prime this kind of pump. anything will help and i need it fast please!!

The plastic clip just holds the hex shaft to the oil pump. Did you have the vaccuum pump out? Could the hex shaft have fallen out or not engage with the vaccuum pump? Simple system, camshaft drives vaccuum pump and pump drives oil pump.:confused:
