I just want to get a idea how my fuel mileage will change with a lift kit and biggger tires. Could some of you guys maybe post you lift kit size and tires size with what your getting on mileage. I am completely stock right now and getting almost 20mpg depending on what I see from you guys I'll decided how big I want to go.Thanks
I've got about 5000 miles on my truck and run the Hypertech, 6" lift, and 35s. I think my mileage sucks. I have gotten about 16 mpg without the Hypertech, and I get about 15 +/- mpg with the Hypertech on level 2 or 3. This was about 60/40 freeway and local street commuting, but my last trip on the highway pulling a 2000 - 2500 lb trailer wiht some steep stretches netted me 11-12 mpg
I think that you might get some better mileage with some 4.11 gears pulling hills or steep grades, but with the 35s and 3.73 gears, your effective gear ratio is 3.10.
I am going to continue to track it for a while, but I ain't expecting great mileage at this point. I think the lift and larger tires will kill your mileage.
I know a lot of people swear they get better mileage after 10K miles, but who knows. I love $3 diesel so much, I am hoping my mileage goes down. Maybe I should add some 38s.
Out!

Thanks guys, I can deal with a 2-3 mpg loss without anything in tow but anymore than that I would have to think about seriously before I did anything.

Are most of you guys getting between 18-20mpg in stock form. I mean before mods?

Depends on if you're talking highway or city mileage. In town I get 16.5, on the highway I get about 21.

When you guys say hwy miliage what kind of speed are you running on the hwy? If I run over 70mph I can see the miliage going to crap, and I really dont want to travel on an interstate that is posted at 70mph and I am driving Miss Dasiy at 65:confused:

I drive 110 hwy miles a day. 50% 60-65 country roads & 50% 70-75 I80. I calculate my mileage at every fill up. I get 17 to 18 mpg consistantly (currently have 15,000 odometer). I'm pretty pleased since I went from an '03 8.1/A that was at 10-11 mpg. Used to put 30 gal in every 3 days, now it's about 19 every 3 days.
