Terrain Twister

Question,
Since GM made the 265/75R16 standard on a single wheel 3500 (just got done checking the GMC website), wouldn't those of us with larger tires be able to get reconfigured to that size?

My guess from GM would be: "If we have a single wheel 3500 we can..." :(

That Tech II programming tool is probably hooked to the VIN and won't even display the option I'll bet!
Maybe when I retire this year I'll borrow one of those things and do a little reverse engineering on it. There's nothing you can do with a Tech II that a laptop wouldn't do!!!

They would probably say that the factory wheels on the 2500HD are too narrow for 265's. SRW 3500's will have 16x7 steel wheels, IIRC.

I am glad to hear that GM will be putting a little wider rim and a 265/75/R16 tires on the new 3500 SRW. It would be nice if they would do that for the 2500HD as well. I think the need some more wheel and tire options in general for the HD trucks.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

The sad thing is that a buddy of mine just bought a 2004 Chevy 1500 that came stock with 265/75/17. That's right 17s. That would be sweet if stock on the 2500s.

Are you sure they are not 265/70-17? I have not seen a 265/75-17. The 265/70-17 is fairly popular and comes on the RAM HD. The problem is most of the tires in that size are load range c rated about 2500lbs. I know BFG makes one in an E rating, I don’t remember what the dodge had. I would not recommend putting any tire rated less the 3000lbs on a HD Truck.

Lets hope they get the Heavy Duty back in to the HD2500 Truck.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
