I installed the tuner into my truck and all went through as it was supposed to. Then when i went to drive it for the first time the truck was a dog. It would rev up like normal in Park or neutral but when I put it in gear the rpms would rise but super slow, no matter how much throttle i was giving it. It was not in limp mode it would go past 2K rpms and when i put it in tow haul mode it shifted like it should in tow haul. talked to ppe and it was just before they were closing for the day and our troubleshooting was kinda cut short but Rick said maybe its throwing a low fuel rail pressure code. So i plugged the tuner back in and tryed to bring up the dtc's and it was searching for like 30 minutes and rick said shouldn't take anywhere near that long. I told him i was gonna try putting a new fuel filter on it and then a fuel rail shim kit if that wasn't enough. I haven't got to either of them yet but i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or heard of it.

Sounds like a fuel issue-- LLY engines have a weak FPRV, but good idea to change the filter. You do need more fuel with the PPE.

I doubt it is the PPE tuner, if it starts and runs.

what level did you start out with?

return it back to stock, unplug batteries for a while, then try flashing again... sounds like a corrupted flash or something.. verify it is fine in stock mode again.

Make sure you dont touch anything or open the door etc... when uploading too.

also did you take the banks off or is it still on the truck?

i completely unplugged the banks. i havent had time to do anything with my truck yet but i am hoping some of this helps me. i am getting a little anxious.

so i went out and bought an airdog 165. so now i should have no problems with fuel pressure. but after installing the tuner into my truck it still has the same problem. i have ran a quadzilla on this truck before so i know that tuners will work in it. not sure what else could be wrong.

so i found out that i am throwing a maf sensor code. so i took a maf sensor out of an 06 lbz and put it in. after that i uplodaded a tune and wouldn't you know it worked. truck ran like a raped ape, i love it. i was reading on one of these forums and it said something about changing the maf tables. so i am gonna find one that is for an 05. all and all it was and easy fix i guess and i love the tuner.

^ did you the motor sign come up i think im having the same problem on my lmm i have a hot race +2 and on level 3 no real black smoke?

the check engine light is always on because i put a tranny out of an lb7 in my truck not knowing that the 05 had a g solenoid and the 01 did not so there for it is constantly looking for one. but it did have a code for it when i scanned the computer. i took a look at the maf sensor and it had a little crack on the top of the housing and it allowed moisture to get into the sensor.

ok im gonna take a look at it thanks, and di you blow alot of black smoke with the old senser im not blow any smoke

when the truck was had a stock tune on it it did not smoke at all. i had the banks 6 gun hooked up and it worked with the bad maf sensor and it did blow smoke, nothing like it does with the ppe but it still blew black.

what do you guys think about maybe a bad fuel filter

I just got a PPE Xcelerator +2 For my 07.5 LMM. I got it used from a guy and all it does when I hook it up is the tuner tells me what kind of tuner it is and then it shuts off and wont do anything. Any Ideas? I updated it and it still didnt do anything.

i also bought mine used and it was for a 2006 to 2007.5. it did the same thing when i tried to upload a tune into my truck. i sent it back to ppe and they reprogammed it to work for the lly and it worked perfect. maybe try sending it back to ppe and havie them do that to yours. it costs $150.
