i have the bose head unit and am wondering what i should replace it with and if so will the steering wheel controls work on the head unit? and i might replace the door speakers but i think those are pretty good, but i really need to add a sub or two in the back,i don't know if i should go with 1 10" sub or 2 10's i want them to hit really hard so i am looking for good quality subs and a sub box and am amp to run em. and also if anybody has a few pics of there setup and the wiring they ran from the headunit to the back that would be really awsome, i know theres sombody here that can help me out so thanks in advance:ro)

Your controls will work if you get a wiring kit that basically uses the remote function of the stereo... I didn't bother, I can reach my stereo fine... On my truck I have a 12 inch Fosgate HE in a heavy plastic JL stealth downfiring box, powered by a fosgate amp, run off my pioneer headunit. It sounds decent, and is plenty for me. My brother has the newer version of my headunit, and way more speaker.. See here:

With the stock speakers in the doors just playing the treble he can really turn his up loud. He has the bose and I don't, and his will go a lot louder than mine without distorting. Actually I think he can turn it up as far as the radio will go, which is way too loud. But it sounds really damn good.

Just finished my install and it came out really sweet. Alipine 9855 HU 25w x 4 rms, plays wma, mpg. 200 songs on a single disk. Infinity 2 way kappas in all four doors. Alpine m605 600 watt mono amp, infinity perfect 10.1 dual vc sub and subthump single 10 downfire box. Install alpine Ipod interface unit and connecting amp with alpine amp link. really cool setup, I can control everthing from the head unit. The HU has SW and crossover controls all built in with adjustable gain, freq and slopes for all the speakers. The single infinity with the amp sounds really good, no need for the dual's. Another amp for my kappas would be a little better but I am really happy with the sound and range of this system. Mid bass is the hardest thing to get, lows and highs are easy, the kappas really do a good job. - Jim
