they may indeed fit but you better have realy efficiant drivers with a huge amp as you will be loosing all the trucks cabin gain, (transfer function , is the gain inside the cabin you get when subs are preasurizing it) fireing through the seats is tough to get good tight bass, I would opt for down fireing tens:ro)

Rear firing wont sound anywhere near as good as downfire. Go get a dual subthump.com enclosure and drop a set of good 10s in it and be done with it.

That is what I did and I am extremely pleased.

That right there tells me that you don't really know what you're talking about. There really is no diference between rear and down fire. The piont is to bounce the bass off a solid suface, weather it's the back of the cab or the floor make no difference. Just because a box is make to hold two tens doesn't mean any ten you put in there will sound great. Every speaker has it's own specs. I crappy sub in a well built box with optimum air space can sound better and hit harder than a really good sub in a less than optimum box. I'm not saying that prefab boxes arent good. I'm just saying you need to find out the specs of the box and then find some subs that fit into those specs....

The point I was making was missed. What I am saying is that rear firing wont sound as good as downfire because there is not a solid "board" in the back of the seats. They absorb too much of the sound.

If the rear seats were solid (or did not have the carpet on them) then yes, a rear fire would sound much better, but since they do not, the padding and carpet absorb too much.

are you referring to subs that face the back of the seat(front of the truck)... or the back of the truck?

Facing the front, which seems to be the default installation of subs behind rear-seats. I think my terminology was wrong, because I did say "rear firing" which is incorrect.

So to clarify, subs mounted behind the rear seat, FACING the front, will not sound as good as subs mounted behind the seat facing the REAR.

Thanks for pointing that out uReside.

it is a common fact that a driver that has room to push air into the cabin unobstructed by a seat will preasurize a vehicles cabin easier than firing through the seat . Try holding a pillow over your mouth and yelling into it and getting any loud sound to happen. when a sub is set up properly the cabin will preasurize with the lowest octives, creating the bump or feeling of bass notes

I am no stereo expert but I made my own custom box behind the seat of my crew cab and have 2 RF 10's and they will thump harder than you can stand ot be in the truck. Just my 2 cents.
