We have an o4 extra cab without the plow prep pkg. Is there any issue with putting a plow on these? Is the suspension @ the front different, or will it hold the weight?

Thanks,

L. Tik...as I recall, the plow package has a few add ons for a strobe light and things like that..there is no difference in the suspension....you should be just fine..

Snow Plow Prep Package, includes 10-amp power for backup and roof emergency light, 145-amp alternator, high-flow front bumper, forward lamp wiring harness, 1.65" (42 mm) access hole with grommet in front of dash panel, instrument panel jumper wiring harness for electric trailer brake controller, Air cleaner, high capacity and Skid Plate Package

I thought the torsion bars were heavier?

No plow prep from GM unless EXT SHORT BOXwith the dmax, I have done several installs (like 90%) on non Plow prep trucks, the only diff is as stated above. I do recommend the GMPP ext warranty with the snow plow rider just for peace of mind. Had no Issues with GM on any of mine, but one never knows. I do adjust the T-bars and run ballast in the rear.

Having the DMax, you already have the heavier t-bars. Go ahead and hang the plow on it. You'll be fine.

Plow prep was available in 04 on ext cab short bed with the d/max. There were not that many out there. Thats when I saw my truck on the lot I bought it.
