I have been waiting for about a year to get a chip or tuner and have kept my eyes opened and read many posts. From my unscientific analysis, I have seen some people who like and use the Hypertech and some who have gotten rid of it but I have seen many more people that use and recommend the Predator, even with the current high egt issues (not that egts are that much lower with the Hypertech). I would bet that in a couple of weeks the final revision version of the Predator will be available. Buying a Hypertech now instead of waiting a couple of weeks for the Predator would be a big mistake. The first sign of trouble is trying to cover your ass, without a clear plan to actually address the issue. You will be able to pick up outdated Predators on Ebay for a buck or two. Man that's strange---thanks for the info. :) I just saw that distinct "Predator" logo (with the funny claw mark in the "O") on both Granatelli and Diablo Sport programers and thought they were the same. NickDiabloSport 08-25-2005, 07:27 PM The newest firmware update for the DiabloSport Predator flash programmer for the 04-05 Duramax with LLY engine is currently being BETA tested and will be released as soon as the DiabloSport engineering and tuning staff feels it is ready. We would like to see this happen as soon as possible, but have no desire to release a product or calibration until it meets and exceeds our high standards. We appreciate your patience and apologize if there has been any confusion. All Predator flash programmers, regardless of who distributed them, are one in the same. They are manufactured and calibrated in exactly the same manner. The only exception is when they are made as part of the DiabloSport OEM program and then the calibrations are made to work specifically with an aftermarket manufacturer’s package of performance products, they will have a specific boot screen with that manufacturer logo showing on power up and are distributed in a performance product package form through the OEM company. When our Duramax firmware update is ready we will announce it to dealers and the general public. The process to receive this latest GM firmware is to contact DiabloSport directly at (561)908-0040 to receive an RMA to return the programmer for updating, for the cost of freight. We do not keep running lists of people looking for firmware updates. We ask them to contact us once to request RMA numbers to send the programmers in for update once the firmware update has been released.
