According to this study (Page 3, Upper-Right Paragraph): http://prod.sandia.gov/techlib/access-control.cgi/1998/988243.pdf 4000 PPM of 2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate raised the cetane rating from 45 to 55. That is .512 fluid ounces/gallon.
Amsoil Cetane Boost Additive is 100% 2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate, according to their MSDS, linked here (Page 2): http://www.amsoil.com/msds/acb.pdf
If cetane boost is proportionate to the concentration of 2-Ethylhexyl Nitrate, than for each point you wish to raise the cetane rating, you will require
.0512 fluid ounces/gallon. I.e., for a 5 point gain in cetane rating, 5 x .0512= .256 fluid ounces/gallon.
