My buddy just put one of those "Do It Yourself" "Custom" air tube/filters on his 2007 Dodge Avenger and now his check engine light came on. I was thinking he must have touched or gotten the MAF sensor dirty. After some research on a Dodge Avenger forum I found out that the Avenger has a "MAP" sensor, not a MAF sensor. Anyone have any ideas on this? What can he do for the check engine light. I believe the light is on because of this "Custom" air intake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to autozone and have them scan it to see what code it is throwing and go from there.

Dont know what engine but on some. There is a Intake air temp sensor in the filter box or intake tubing. If there was one on the orginal intake you need to instal it on the new CAI.
Engine wont run right without it.
