im going to be replacing the y bridge, pulling the injectors, pulling the stock turbo, stripping the truck and putting a fuel cell and fass on this weekend. well get started at least. but i was wanting to get a modified or something for the cp3 while i had the y bridge out. what would be something go to have fast and not to pricey.

I would start out with a built motor, and have someone build a big set of twins for you.

not going a built motor until next year or until it blows ( i don't see the point in fixing something until its broke but i do know the power is limited with stock internals) and i will build a set of twins when the motor is out of the truck with a s475 and s510

I would stick with the stock fuel system the first year. You mentioned not building the engine until it blows, sometimes that leaves you with nothing to build. If you leave the fuel system stock you may be able to get a good season out of it without sending a rod through the block. I would do an S475, larger injectors, and skip on the heads until you get ready to build the engine. Take the money you were going to spend on heads this year and spend it on suspension and weigh reduction. I think a 4 link kit will help your ET more than heads and if I'm thinking right, you can shave allot of weigh with the 4 link.

yea i changed my mind on the heads and im gunna wait but not sure on the cp3

Keep in mind that if you throw a S475 and a bunch of fuel at it, you are committed basically to doing an engine build if you run it very hard. If you don't run it hard, there isn't much point in doing dual CP3's, injectors, etc. at this stage. And heads, in my opinion should be at the bottom of your list right now.

If you are going to make it a drag truck there are lots of things that can nickle and dime you to death if you just spent all your money making a bunch of power you can't put to the ground, and your bottom end probably won't hold for long anyway.

Like others have said, I'd concentrate on the supporting mods to putting power to the track. You can lose some leaf springs, install caltracs, get some decent tires, etc. Do the roll pan thing, lose the spare tire winch, etc.

If you're going go as fast as those mods you want should make you, you're going to neeed a roll bar too.

All those things cost money and aren't as cool as the HP mods, but they still will need to be done.

Just some thoughts.

you could probaly get away with a wicked diesel arson kit in the cp3 while you have it apart.

change the lly intake cups and ybridge to lbz stuff, spend money on a intercooler, put electric fans on it(make your own set from jegs) , put in the ppe race fuel rail plug, build a driveshaft loop, take off the skid plates, ditch the tailgate, cognito braces, straight centerlink, if you dont have them already tie rod sleeves, install your arson kit, ditch the stock fuel lines that route across the motor and the undersized fuel line that feeds the cp3, remove the underhood insulation.....that will get u started. as far as removing weight from the truck dont look for pounds, instead look for ounces. after all ounces add up to pounds.

how do i go about removing the fuel lines since it goes through the fuel injection module?

Are you actually going to have the money to do all this? Building a worth while race truck is probably gonna cost $30,000. If not I would just sell the truck and get twins or something for your 06.

I thought about doing this but I could never afford to keep up with the jonses.

My truck is nearly paid off then I am going to buy twins for it and start saving for a motor build

A reliable 600hp daily driver is what I am going for

All billet stuff? That's the way to go for anything racing, all billet, billet everything. Billet is much stronger than other metals, in fact, it's one of the strongest metals there is.

really now? is that so? i wasnt aware that "billet" was actually a metal. or "one of the strongest metals" can you actually find this metal on the periodic table for me? i just cant seem to find it.

what exactly do you mean by "billet is much stronger than other metals"???

your not gonna learn nothing if you dont try it. not everyone can afford/want to throw money at every situation to keep up with the guys that have enough for a truck and sand rails.

brad... PM me. i think i have a few parts you may want to help out that bottom end.
how did that cheetah work out? ever get it fixed?
