I was looking yesterday at Chevrolet.com at the 2006 models and noticed something I am not that crazy about. It appears they did like they did in 2003/4 and made the 1/2 models with the same grill and hood as the 3/4 and 1ton models. I have always liked the slight differentiation in the models and am not that crazy for this change (but they do look dang good though). Anybody else notice this- or am I just being a bit picky? :confused: Later Walt

I'm with you on that one, the 01,02s atleast stood apart from the 1/2 tons.

I have also noticed that all of the 1/2 tons, have what used to be for 1 year, the (new HD) front end. That is why I waited for my 05 so that I could have a different tougher looking front end.

Its all a corporate conspiracy to make us all trade in our 05's in for the 06's with the redesigned mirrors. Of course when we do this, our trade in would be upside down because of the past promotions reducing the trade in value. Just another conspiracy theory-

Well when I was at the dealer today I noticed the only new 06 trucks they had in were maybe 2 or 3 half tons and even though they have the HD looking grille and hood it's still obvious it's a half ton from the low stance and the wheel style. I think it looks pretty good but a half ton is a play toy anyway when your lookng for a work truck.

My 06 2500 looks alot like my 03 1500 from the hood down. And I agree there should be some difference

i was told all the chevys 06 1500-2500 were going to use the same hoods and i guess same grills just what i heard

I prefer the HD's to look slightly different as well so long as they look tougher.
