Anyone using Auto Meter C2 Pyro and\or Boost gauge? How's the illumination? I'm having a difficult time deciding between the Lunar, Ultra Lite and C2 but haven't seen much discussion about the C2. Also, any pro\con with electric vs mechanical gauges? Thinking I should go to 60 boost and 2000 pyro. Ultra Lite seems to be the cleanest looking (IMO) but I don't care for the other edge lighting.

Denali02,
The main differences between the Ultra Lites and the Cobalt's, C2's and the Lunar other than the lighting is that all of them but the Ultra Lites are operated by stepper motors (mini electric motors) that actually control the function of the gauge needle. Lots more responsive and accurate, but of course more expensive too. If you want the best accuracy the stepper motor gauges are the way to go, but if you don't care about the minor accuracy issues the Air core movement gauges like the Ultra Lites have been the standard forever. We stock them all, Auto Meter, Isspro, Dipricol etc call us if you have any questions etc.

One thing about the 60 pound boost guage is the needle barely registers between 0-5psi which is where you are for lots of conditions. You might want to stick with the 35psi guage.

Mark Craig - So I'll eliminate the Ultra Lite for now. Now I need to decide between the color lighting (seems to be much better) and face style. Leaning towards the white face but the Cobalts look crisp at night.
Max Power - Good to know. Thought I'd go 60 in case I upgrade but don't plan on it any time soon. Rather have data from where it resides the most.
Thanks for the info.

Denali02,
I have the C2 guages in my truck and absolutely love them. Very few people know about or have seen these guages.(in my close circle of friends)They are bright even in complete darkness, even with the dash lights dimmed down all the way. I went with the 0-35 boost and the 0-1600 pyro. The trans temp is far easier to read than the stock guage.

thx. i talked to autometer today. i've narrowed my choice to the NV or C2 as they have LED lighting. the rep said lunars may be discontinued do to the life expectancy of the "fillment". most likely will go with the C2's but 2000 pyro

Denali02, are you set on the Auto-Meters? My buddy just bought a set of FAZE gauges for his sport compact. His car isn't modded, but he figures if diesels should have gauges, his WRX needs to. LOL
They are alot like the C2's but a bit lighter on the wallet. I am waiting to see what they look like, but when I checked out their web site, they look pretty nice.
You might want to check them out. http://www.fazegauge.com
Mark Craig, do you guys handle these?

Thx for the link. They look good but not a lot of info on the technology. I like the C2's because they use a stepper motor and LED lighting. Also, are the lights adjustable?..hmm

I too am looking for gauges. I want to be able to adjust the lights at night. I don't want something so close to my face (pillar mount) shining in my eyes! Any issues with this?

Not completely sure on the light adjustability. I have read here that you can connect the gauge light to your dimmer but not sure how in synch the brightness is with the instrument cluster lighting. I don't like the pillar mount becuase it looks cluttered and bulky & gauge is too close (IMO). I ordered the brushed trippin mount with switches (in case i ever need them).

Any issues with blindspots on the pillar mount gauges? I am thinking about it but would rather have them mounted above the mirror like DIESELPUSHER has!

Why not the Z series?
