During 4x4 launches do you gents leave it in 4HI all the way down? Or when do you dissengage it?

It is useless to try and disengage it goint down the track. It will not release from 4x4 until the load is off.

ahh, didn't think about that. I thought there was a "Recommended" speed limit for 4 wheel operation?

:iamwithst I'm betting the GM engineers would have a coranary and imediatly void my waranty 6 ways from sunday if they saw me blowing through the traps a 114 in 4x4:eek: ):h People tell me IFS sucks for plowing and is weak :blahblah: yet it handles my 9.5' EZV just fine and dosnt mind 4x4 launches on N2O......I'll have my cake and eat it too thank you:D

I disengage mine as soon as I pass the cone.

All about weight. Reg cabs start with an advantage for sure but the plow mounts, headach rack, tool box ect add up on mine. I'm still a light weight compared to most at 6600# or so "race weight" and 6800# or so in "street trim"

Kappa..............The only thing the tranny folks want is you shifting into 4X4 at no faster that 55 MPH. How long you stay there is up to you.
