: New truck mods, look OK to you?

Just got our 2005 Chev crew cab LT 4X4. Neat truck, but of course could use a touch more power. My current thought is to add an Edge w/Attitude, 4" exhaust, and keep the stock intake. Plus, Bilsteins & H2 wheels & tires (takeoffs). No lift either. Will use it for a daily driver, and tow a yet to be determined 31-33 foot fifth-wheel toy hauler. Do not plan on tweaking the awesome Allison, so no huge power upgrades.

Sound about right? Any other plan that makes more sense?

Thanks,

Ed

Might want to rethink the intake thing. Airbags or an extra leaf for that fifth wheel might be something to think about too. Check out the threads on sealing your cooling stack -easy DIY mod that will keep your LLY cooler when towing.

Other than that, your mods seem in line with what you want to do.

BTW - You might have to turn your t-bars to get the H2s under the fenders so plan on that and an alignment.

Other non-performance stuff to consider -- bed liner sprayed on type, nerf bars or steps.

Thanks. Already put on nerf bars, and will get it Line-X'd this week. Hadn't thought of bigger springs... Reports I've read here indicate intake mods may not add power, that the stock setup is fine. Definitely will "seal the stack".

Intake mod probably doesn't so much add power as it may help keep EGTs down.

May want to just pop a unifoam filter in the stock airbox or perf the stock airbox.

I am still debating on this mod myself. I used a K&N filter but am looking to change it out because studies show they flow well but let too much dirt pass.

go with the stock air box IMO

Maybe swisscheese it and try to seal it and make a cold air since its free/cheap but other than that a stocker with a paper filter.

Edit: and on the exhaust.....decide if you want to ditch the cat to and if so look into what will be required there and also maybe look into the egr blocker plate deal.

As far as the suspension, I don't know if your trailer is open or enclosed, if it's open, you won't need bags or springs, but if it's enclosed your gonna want to beef it up a little, I have a 40' enclosed exiss trailer for my racecars and I put "Airlift" Airbags "Load Contoller2 w/ dual gauges", it's the perfect setup, for the main reason, when your not connected to the trailer you don't want your truck to ride like a dump truck, just take the air out. But I had them on my last truck and I have them on my new truck and their great.

Air bags, definitely. Too bad I can't go full air like on our motorhome... A question has arisen from my wife, concerning warranty issues. (I've been avoiding thinking about that aspect) She has been looking over my shoulder, and noticed the Predator box. Looks like that can be removed without a trace, instantly. With the Juice/Attitude, it's more permanently mounted. Put in a boost & pyro egt gauge in the overhead console, which could stay in even on dealer visits. With 100k mile warranty from GM, I don't want to jeopardize that, nor do I want to wait until 100k to soup it up...
Suggestions?

Thanks again,

Ed

The juice come out in a few minutes. Tell the dealer your in the process of installing a pyro or mount a pyro also. Predator comes out easy though to
