Nice to be here... I just picked up my 03 charcoal 4x4 silverado 2500 (duramaxof course) xtended cab from an auto auction in orlando today.
MY old car (among a few) was this daytona 500 grand prix gtp (for the few who care)

I'm somewhat eager to begin modding this truck..Ive been interested in one for about a year or so now, i love the way the turbo sounds...Its got 77.3k miles and is in really good condition (were going to have it wetsanded and checked out at chevy to make sure everythings ok tomorrow).
Any advice? im pretty sure i know where to begin (airflow,intake/exhaust and whathaveyou) and am not sure quite where to go from there.ive read about the banks "six gun" package or w/e...it seemed pretty *****in, but ive also heard that the allison tranny should be worked on before doing any of that...? any clarifications/comments/advice?
ill take pcitures tomorrow and post them

Welcome to the place! Congrats on your purchase. Those whathaveyou's add up really fast, so be prepared.

Congratulations on your selection. When you go to Chev dealer have them run the VIN and find out what kind of service your truck has had. Like youir color, same as mine. Remember when you put the play things on, you play, you pay. My only functional add on is a NICKTANE Fuel Filter set up. Recommend all diesel owners consider a prefilter, good insurance. Good luck with your truck.

Welcome to the Place!

You better start thinking up an "epitaph" for your wallet right now if you want to do mods.

If you do get the Six-Gun, just keep it out of the top levels until you get the tranny done.

Its getting detailed/wetsanded right now and my dad wrote the vin# down when we dropped it off so were going to run a carfax on it momentairly...Ill definitly ask them to do that at chevy, i also read about a air filter recall for the 01-04s duramaxs....

Ive browsed here before, just never really felt the need to make a user name since i didnt have the truck.. I live in ft lauderdale florida

What exactly constitutes getting the "Tranny done" somewhat new to trucks and diesels... What about alternatives to the 6gun?

Yea i actually already have most of my questions answered...Only got two questions...
What can i do to it to make the turbo more audiable?
Also what would i have to do to it to consistanly run mid to high 14s??
