I was wondering have anyone put a different air to air cooler in their LLY? I want to know what the gain is and what the price range is? I need the tranny done first but just curious. I know banks has one out, tells a big gain. Let me know what you know. Thanks

I think there are lots more gains to be had for a grand from a perf stand point......unless you are a big tow guy or something and then I duno if it would be worth it or not??? Got Juice is about the only person I know of with one but he isnt really apples to apples with you since he has a LB7 and twin turbos......

Huck has one of them Banks coolers on his truck, ask him if it's worth it.

Banks said with there cooler you can run 10% more fuel and stay at the same egt, than if you had a stock cooler.
I think once you start adding more boost, the extra flow through the banks cooler will benefit.

So a cooler and Big Head would be a good combo? Are those Big Head gizmos worth it?

I would hold off on the Techni-Cooler until more real-life inforamation is available. I have one, but have not towed with load yet to test the difference when operated at different programed power settings.

I installed Techni-cooler for maximum towing to minimize the EGT's on long grades so my programmer does not de-fuel because of exceeding maximum EGT's. Does not make a performance difference when unloaded around town.

The Big Head provides adjustable preload on wastegate which results in faster turbo spooling and adjustment as to maximum boost if your program provides sufficient fuel increase. I like the Big Head.

Fingers has seen the OE drop temps to near ambient in the overheating thread so any gains would neeed to be by throughput either in CFM or flow thru the core

Better off porting the turbo & the exhaust manifolds
