The DPF is clogging up on my 2007 ML320 CDI, dealer wants to replace it. Has anyone deleted one or know anything about it?

Dont want to pay to have it replaced.

Thanks

Was googling around for something else but found this thread, recently created. Thought I could assist with an answer. The DPF is really expensive, so I understand if you want to delete it for good, and I think I can help you out with some brief info.

I just deleted the DPF on my 2008 E420 CDI. I didn't do it because the DPF was clogging up though, that was still as new I'm sure, but I did it because of the sound. And louder it became, just as I wanted ;). So first of all, keep in mind that if you remove the DPF, youre gonna greatly increase the exhaust sound as well. Nice on a 320 CDI in my opinion, but some might not want that.

You must aswell get a new ECU-software to make it run properly without DPF.

Hope you find this helpful, good luck with it

Will the dealer re flash it to work without the DPF?

Yeah, because soooo many mercedes owners even know what a DPF is...much less care about removing it.

Its a EPA/legally required emissions control device. There is no way the dealer would ever/could ever "reflash it" to disable the DPF.
