Here in northern mo, they are once again enforcing air shutoffs on all rigs no matter if its your daily driver or not. What could I do to fab one thats not gonna break the bank and be removable?

I made one b4 for about 5 dollars I made it out of extra 5 inch exhaust piping that I had laying around it was a butterfly style I'm trying to think of a way to make a gilitine style out of some aluminum piping and plate for really cheap I'll try to keep u updated on what I come up with

now how do you hook up the release. I seen somewhere that there a spring that always wants to pull it shut, but how do you make the trip wire work.

put a pin in it to hold it open . then run a cable to the rear of the truck thru the eyes of the parking brake cable . then put an eye on the side of your hitch run your cable thru that and put an eye in your cable to hook to the sled . if your truck breaks free from a sled your cable will trip the air shutoff .

You guys running the alluminum ones or the cold rolled ones and welding them to the intake?
