I have my egr blocked off and my buddy doesn't...he just has his egr unplugged. I told him he should plate it but when asked why...I couldn't come up with a good answer. If it is unplugged it shouldn't be workin any way. My only question is can the egr be left open when its unplugged? ie..let all of the exhaust gasses thru all of the time. He has a juice/attitude and has been runnin the thing on 3 low boost 5 for about 25,000 miles. You would think if gasses were escapin thru then the thing would be completely carboned up by now. Any ideas.....:help2:

IIRC the original EGR thread made mention that the EGR could remain open if unplugged while running or when it was already open IIRC. It was also discussed that if left unplugged with no plate, the EGR stator motor coould get carboned up and not work in the long run if you needed to return to the dealer..
