First before I get into the questions/issues I have, let me say I have been in touch with Banks customer service, tech support and they are first rate. My first IQ was bad, they sent me one overnight no questions asked. Wish all manufactures were this concerned about their products and with customer service and satisfaction.

Ok on to my questions:
1. I have had the six gun w/speedloader and the PDA for quite some time. The Trans temp feature never worked. I was hoping with the IQ it would, but it doesn't. Anyone else seeing this? Does yours work?
2. My sixgun tuner has firmware v1.0. Can I update this via the IQ or does this need to sent back to Banks and be done by them. And if so, will all future updates need to be done this way or once it's done once, will new firmware updates be able to be loaded with the IQ?
3. This is on a 2005 LLY, I guess the fuel milage feature won't work? Is this correct?
4. Is the anyway to clear codes on the "fly" like with the PDA?

Issues:
Only issue so far is that the IQ looses communication with the tuner quite often, I unplug the connection at the OBDII (while driving) re-connect, and communication will be restored. I never had an issue with the PDA in regards to this. Could it be a "bridge" issue?

Thanks!

Hi BK:D Let's see if I can help you out here:

Ok on to my questions:
1. I have had the six gun w/speedloader and the PDA for quite some time. The Trans temp feature never worked. I was hoping with the IQ it would, but it doesn't. Anyone else seeing this? Does yours work?
This feature should be working as it's available through the ECM. If you have upgraded from a PDA to the iQ then your tuner may require an update to see it though. More on this in a second.

2. My sixgun tuner has firmware v1.0. Can I update this via the IQ or does this need to sent back to Banks and be done by them. And if so, will all future updates need to be done this way or once it's done once, will new firmware updates be able to be loaded with the IQ?
This is where your problem is coming from. The current firmware is version 4.0. Click here for the update instructions: http://www.bankspower.com/iqupdate1 (http://www.bankspower.com/iqupdate1)
Your iQ should be able to reflash the tuner without having to send it in. If however your unable to update it give me a call at the number in my sig and I'll get it reflashed for you.

3. This is on a 2005 LLY, I guess the fuel milage feature won't work? Is this correct?
It's not yet ready for the LLY-LBZ engines just yet. We are working on it though and you will be able to down load it for free when it is. The Banks Nav GPS is ready for your truck now though:D

4. Is the anyway to clear codes on the "fly" like with the PDA?
Not it's not. The iQ took that feature out. You can still clear codes but the truck can't be in motion when you do.

Issues:
Only issue so far is that the IQ looses communication with the tuner quite often, I unplug the connection at the OBDII (while driving) re-connect, and communication will be restored. I never had an issue with the PDA in regards to this. Could it be a "bridge" issue?
This is most likley an issue with the tuner being out of date (old firmware). If it continues after the update call me right away.

Thanks!

Hope this helps:D

Thanks for the info.
1 & 2... will try the upgrade once I get a SD card to download and install the update.
3... sounds good, I'll be looking forward to the update. Already got the Banks Nav!
4... Bummer on this, I really liked that feature with the PDA, exspecillly if you thru a fuel code on the hiway and couldn't go over 60. Just reset and go!

As to the communication issue, I'll keep you posted after the update.

Thanks again!

Not it's not. The iQ took that feature out. You can still clear codes but the truck can't be in motion when you do.

Why did you take that away?

If I had to guess, I'd say for safety reasons, but yet you can access other features while moving.

Ok downloaded the latest firmware update for the tuner to the IQ.
Tried to update the tuner, but no go. Seems since my tuner is 6 years old and has v.1 it can't be done. BUT, once I send it back to Banks, they will update the firmware, then any future update WILL be able to be installed via the IQ.

Hope this fixes all of the issues.

I will post an update once I get the tuner back which with shipping both ways from MA to CA should be in about two weeks.

Thanks to JB and all the tech support at Banks, they all have been very caring and helpful.
