: Any Idea On HP?
ryandoctorman 02-06-2011, 11:19 PM Hello everyone im new to the forum! Im curious if anyone could tell me what kind of HP numbers i may be making? Truck weighs 6,650 with me in it full of fuel. Best 1/8th time of 8.11. Plan on Dynoing truck in the spring but was just curious. Stock turbo, injectors. PPE lift pump. thanks guys:)
05victoryLLY 02-06-2011, 11:55 PM well I am sure Rob could tell you the best w/o any dyno runs. If you running his max effort tune my guess is between 450-500whp depending on the health of you fuel system.
IdahoRob 02-07-2011, 12:07 AM 8.11 in the 1/8 is an easy 12 second pass in the 1/4 mile.
MPH is the real world HP calculator as ET is effected by too many varibles.

x2, need your trap speed.
ryandoctorman 02-07-2011, 02:47 PM I will have to go back and look for a timeslip. Been a while now. I want to say 87mph but that sounds awful fast.
LWATSON 02-07-2011, 07:08 PM My truck runs about 84 MPH in the 1/8th and its a crew cab, I dont think 87 for a regular cab is out of the question.
ryandoctorman 02-07-2011, 09:33 PM Well I found a slip, it was 88mph. Rob builds some great tunes!!! for a stock truck it sure is impressive to me...
tonydduramax 02-08-2011, 06:35 AM around 500hp to 530hp
ryandoctorman 02-08-2011, 07:46 AM Thanks guys! I am hoping to break the 500 mark with stock turbo and injectors. Now if i could just keep the tranny together  On my 4th set of clutches so far!
TheBac 02-09-2011, 06:59 AM 4 sets of clutches. Damn. Do yourself a favor....save up your money and build the trans before you continue.
IdahoRob 02-09-2011, 11:44 AM At that MPH and with a lift and those tires, you are flying. Pull the lift and use stock tires and you'll be into the top 25 stock Dmax list.

That's what i was thinking, jeepers Wally. That truck hauls balls.
ryandoctorman 02-09-2011, 07:06 PM That is built tranny from suncoast..did that before i ever started haha:) Yeah Rob ive always wanted to try some smaller tires on my stock wheels! Do you think it will make a big difference on my times? Also what about a front locker?
ryandoctorman 02-09-2011, 07:10 PM And i always have thought this truck is freakishly fast for no more mods than it has..Im confident that is has mostly to do with weight and the genius that tuned it!!! (IdahoRob)
LWATSON 02-09-2011, 07:50 PM Smaller tires will make a big difference! Get a set of 265's.
ryandoctorman 02-09-2011, 08:03 PM i have an old set of 285s that i could throw on there and try out when spring gets here. im going to try it, you have motivated me haha
TheBac 02-09-2011, 09:59 PM That is built tranny from suncoast..did that before i ever started haha:)
Dang....thats amazing.
I agree with the others, the lift and those 37s sure arent helping you.
IdahoRob 02-10-2011, 01:17 AM With your MPH, with some set-up changes, you'll be deep near the top of the list. Put it on TheBac treatment and you'll have the crown!
ryandoctorman 02-10-2011, 09:43 PM Idahorob i am trying to make my own twins kit and i have a couple turbos laying around one is a garrett off of a series 60 detroit and the other is an ht60 holset off a n14 Cummins. im wondering if either of these are ok to try or if im wasting my time?
colt49 02-15-2011, 09:20 PM Put on the 265 tires and go onto dyno with Rob's instructions for load on dyno and then where to set the timing and pulse wid. etc. considering the dyno man has EFI capabilities or you have a laptop etc to do it. Reg. cabs really come alive on the line without the extra weight a crewcab has stuffed in it, Crews weigh like what 1k more to start then everybody puts in the mods. If you put twin turbos, CP3s, bigger nozzles it would be a nice quick reg. cab. White OUT is an example for reg. cab. I think. That new truck Mika in Finland is riggin' up with the tube chasis, short box etc. is the one I want to see finished up he said his GRW with twin turbos etc. is like 3500 lbs. I think he said. Man that thing will be a kickazz Duramax shorty to see fly thru the 1/4 mile. He runs close to sea level mostly and works all the air/fuel inductions down to a fine point. You can bet that Diesel Power will do a main spread story on it after he's got the shake down finished. Maybe he's going with 3 turbos on it if I remember reading that now.
ryandoctorman 02-15-2011, 09:52 PM I am really wanting to build the bottom end before i go too wild, but the wife is wanting a new ride so im searching for her an LMM as we speak so that puts my project on the back burner for a few months haha. Although I am in the middle of prepping it for paint and shaving some weight off of it per roll pan and cutting all the useless supports from the bed etc.. Its going to be very hard to part with lift and tires though..

Suncoast (the entire mother-effing company) ain't what it used to be. Sad story.

After Joe passed, the company had it's struggles. Ron did what he could to keep it running under tough times. The company is back up on it's feet with Ron at the helm, and making great products. I have used,/still use many of their products, under extreme conditions, and have NEVER been disappointed.
ryandoctorman 02-18-2011, 10:37 PM Ron has been very helpful with anything i needed A++ customer service. If i had to do it over again i would still use them. I know that there isnt a tranny in the world that could handle what i put my truck through so its my fault haha. Bowhunter, sent you a pm.
