Same here in central Georgia...about 5 to 10 cents less than regular. Both just shot up but gas went up more than diesel.

This is the first summer in the southeast that I have not seen Diesel below 87 octane. I've been paying premium gas price for diesel in North Carolina.

Here is ranges from a dime more to a dime or so less, so you have to look for the best price in order to get it for less.

I can tell you one thing, the truckers arn't going to take this much longer before they shut this country down. They did a little of it last week.

Filling up is now a major purchase. The talking heads keeps aying people are NOT changing their driving habits - that's crap. It looked like Christmas morning around here on saturday, not a soul on the road that didn't have to be.

For me, those little week end trips are a thing of the past. I used to go every week end, now I'm gonna sit around and watch Sponge Bob Square pants, and leave the $100.00 in my wallet.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why is diesel more than gas?? It's cheaper to refine, least I thought it was.

In the wintertime - we are competing with those heating their homes with oil (mainly in the northeast u.s.). A cold winter will mean higher diesel prices.

Hurricane's can and do disrupt production of some oil fields in the gulf that supplied sweet crude. A refinery fire last year or this also cut production.

We have so little production surplus here in the u.s. that one little glitch and the price skyrockets.

Diesel is now more than gas because congress passed a bill that the diesel would have to be refined to a higher level due to emissions and polutions, that is why we now pay dearly! Thank your congressman

I was passing by one of the few stations here that sell soy biodiesel...

Diesel was $2.79 and B99 biodiesel was $3.09; Thinking about where the money ended up going - I topped off with biodiesel.

I agree 100%, the talking heads are full of it. Used to go to the lake twice a month or more. now we can't afford to fill up the boat and go out (60 gals), Can't afford to drive up there and back (200 miles round trip). Last time we went, the lake was deserted. The folks that rely on us out of towners supporting the "tourist" industry at the lake are really hurting this year. So don't tell me people are not changing their driving habits. Another thing I have noticed while out on the interstate is that more and more people are driving the speed limit now, vs going 10 to 15 over the limit. And yes I'm one of them. It's also causing problems at home now. Got into it with the wife over her driving style and all the unnecessary trips she takes with the 01yukon XL she drives. She gets about 8-9mpg around town and 12 on the highway. It now takes over $75 to fill that thing up every 300 miles. I want to sell it now and get her an Accord. She refuses to even consider something that is not an "SUV", it "MUST" allow her to sit up high Censored Two familys in our neighborhood have already sold their suburbans for the same reason and are now driving much smaller cars. I don't ever see this stopping. The energy company's and their energy traders have us by the nads and they can squeeze all they want because we do not have any other options. Sooner or later it will put our economy into a tail spin as energy is the basis of everything in our economy. It makes me sick to my stomach every month when our fuel bill shows up in the mail.-:t

I hope the truckers do strike/stop etc. to get our governments attention. There is no competation in the fuel market anymore, just 2 large players who are very happy matching each others price increases, and then one-upping them.

Try looking at it this way and it may be easier to swallow. Diesel fuel contains about 30% more energy potential per gallon than gasoline. That's the main reason we get so much more work (mpg) out of it so even if it is slightly more costly we are still ahead. :muahaha: Does a spoon full of honey make the medicine go down?

I think we are close to the price point where demand will drop slightly and that will allow the price of gasoline to drop relative to diesel. Diesel will pobably remain high. That's my opinion anyway as I don't see diesel fuel/heating oil having much elasticity of demand.

We may be at peak oil production now and if so it will take a world wide recession to keep prices in check. Energy prices will probably cause this and will eventually tick up anyway. I think, boys and girls, that there is no winning in this situation. :(

Now I didn't pay this... I drove right on by a fuel station here in Hollywood, Ca. selling #2 at $3.29 a gallon. I agree, We need the truckers to strike! I'll support them 100 percent and will pay more at the supermarket checkout with a smile as long as something is done about this fuel bull@%*! Folks, petroleum companies aren't showing the profits that they are because of corporate belt tightening! We are being GOUGED.

I just wish I could find bio here for 3.09 #2 has been 3.09 for over a week now. Funny thing when a hurricane threatens, or an Arab dies the price of fuel jumps 25 cents in one day. Then the hurricane misses the oil platform, or they find out the Arab's son isn't going to pull oil from the market so instead of dropping prices the oil companys come up with some other BS like well the winter heating season is comming up just to keep on jacking the prices up!

SCREW the oil companies! We need to get the companies producing bio diesel to get their product to markets! How can we tell the OPEC nations to (blank) themselves if the only competing product is not widely available yet. Contact the companies that sell bio, tell them you're willing to buy their product. I have sent an email to all the companies selling bio on the west coast expressing my interest in their product, maybe you should send an email or make a phone call before you go on to the next post. Be proactive, make a call, send an email what's it really going to hurt if they don't reply.

$2.70 to $2.80 here in Elko area. Most stations diesel is higher priced than premium grade gasoline. Nice thing is that they give a squeeze of KY with each fill-up.

Diesel here is anywhere from 15-30 cents more than premium here, which makes it 45-60 cents more than regular. climbing anywhere from 10-17 cents per day. Best to fill up in the morning on the way to work than to wait for the daily increase.

regular 87 octane is 2.59 diesel is 2.69. I didn't think the low sulfer fuel kicked in until 2007. That's the only reason I can see diesel being more than gas. All of the other reasons listed like refinery fires, and overworked refineries should still push gas higher than diesel.

Actually we have no production surplus in the U.S. We actually import finished gasoline and distillate because we don't have enough capacity to meet our own needs.

Filled up yesterday here in Phoenix. Diesel was $2.80 (I saw it as high at Chevron for $2.99), while 87 is running around $2.45-2.50.

I was looking to put on some 285's, but now think Ill have to downsize to 265's just because of the gas prices.
