: 1093, 10 times in a row at 65mph!

Pulled out to pass two cars on a two lane black top Saturday night on my way home from the Mopar Nationals, made it around them, eased off the throttle and got a 1093. This is only the second time in 10k miles of Predator use I have seen a 1093 so I scrambled for the Predator and reset the code on the fly. Then within 2-3 seconds I felt the power fall off and sure enough another 1093, I was cruising at steady state 60-65mph so I reset it again only to have repeat this sequence about 10 times before it finally went away for good. After another 10 miles of cruising I tried repeatedly to set a 1093 but go figure, nothing. This was with 3/4 of a tank of fuel, at the end of a 800 mile day, most of which was at 75mph, with approx 5k mi on both fuel filters. Have you guys that set 1093's had it happen repeatedly at steady state throttle before?

Very common on my truck. When they start after passing someone, I can get several consecutive ones at steady state throttle. I think it is because the valve has not seated properly. The valve seems to not seat well until you are at idle or after shut-off.

I can set 10 1093s in a day and then go 10 weeks without a single one.

Thanks in advance.

Here you go. Nothing too fancy. These are old pics. Since then I have added a 4" MBRP exhaust and a few other go fast parts.

Clusters of P1093's are common. Perhaps there is a very small piece of dirt that holds the seat open once it pops.

Every time I set a 1093 I need to reset it and let right off the throttle for 10 seconds or so for it to stick. If i keep cruising it will set one again in a few seconds.

My theory is that once the valve pops it takes much less pressure to keep it open and therefor it sets a code right away again until you get the pressure relieved enough for it to close. Not sure if this is what is going on or not but it makes sense to me.

Basically what I am trying to say is that once it reaches it's pop off point it will stay open even under less pressure until the pressure gets low enough for it to seat again.

U need to slow down under 50mph IIRC to get it to reset.

I went to TC michigan over the weekend and set one on rt.23, couldn't reset it until I slowed down to jump on I-94.
Tried a couple of times w/ the predator and power came up but dropped right back.
Luckily w/ the 285s I could still stay close to 70mph w/ the 1093.

Fuel temp and rail temp are huge contributing factors. At 150* fuel temp I can set them at will even on a stock truck on decel.Fix is getting close and still safe. Tim

I did the shim update today and found after removing the valve that the crimp had slipped allowing the seat to push out about .080". Shimmed it anyway (turned the jam nut with two fingers and it popped apart) and all's good! Thanks for the tip!...T
