: Replacing stock parts?

I have an 03' dmax w/ totally stock undercarraige. 75,000 miles and my mechanic noticed that possible ball joint slop in right front.

I do run a 8 1/2 ft western v-plow excessively in the snow. But when plowing is done, the plow is off. No extra traveling.

Should this be a concern, or should I grease the crap out of the joints.

I would like to replace the stock components w/ beefier items, but don't want to throw money away if I don't have to.

Is bigger better? By replacing these stock items w/ larger components will the truck in essence be tougher?

I am all about longevity. If I have to spend some money now to save alot down the road, I will.

What companies do I contact for these parts? Can I get these parts w/ out getting a lift kit?

Thanks for all the help!

TommJr, look at the Fabtech stuff. I just installed new Fabtech inner and outer tie rods and idler and pitman arm.. Very impressive stuff.

So, Eric, you selling this stuff? At nearly 106,000 miles I'm looking to "redo" my front end and will be interested in doing the "whole nine yards" if I'm going to have to get under there.
